Residence Inn by Marriott Youngstown Boardman/Poland

It's hard to find a place that's nice, affordable, AND pet friendly, but this place nails all three. The rooms are clean and smell good, it's typically quiet (might hear an occasional dog bark while walking the halls), and the staff is so friendly and helpful. It's not the cheapest hotel on the block, but for what it offers, it's more than reasonable with a stocked kitchen and in-room temperature control (that actually works). I had to bring my dog and my cat for three nights and was so thankful to have a place for them with me. I highly recommend this place and will certainly book again.

Overall good experience. Room was nice size (we had a king suite with separate bedroom), clean and had good amenities. Public areas of the hotel seemed a little dirty - nothing major just needed swept. Part of the issue I am sure was our late night Saturday arrival and early morning Sunday departure. We were just in between cleanings and the hotel had many visitors. The breakfast area is small and was crowded but the food was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The person in charge was actually making and delivering them to tables. Front desk staff was helpful and responsive to requests.

Had reservations for a weekend for a 2 br suite. First night we got there we found out that one of the bathrooms was handicap accessible in which we had no bathtub. We overlooked that problem to go in our master bedroom to find majority of the carpet was soaked and it was stating to seep from the window to the bed. We called maintenance in which he came with a wet vac but the water kept coming. We talked to front desk to see if there was another room available in which there was no availability due to the time 12:30am. The receptionist them offered us (2) 1brm suites and we would have to split my family of 6 up, we declined. So, front desk then said if we stay in the room over night that she would make some kind of accommodations for our inconveniences. So we stayed in the soaked-floor room. While there I reached behind the table next to the bed to plug up my fan to look behind there and found a pair of used thigh highs....(Housekeeping where yaw at?) So, morning came and my husband and I went back down to front desk to see if we can resolve the wet floor problem. So the receptionist then states she had some "good news". She had found us another 2 br suite, off we went to pack up allllll of our belongings to go around the corner from where we were originally. With bags in hand, the housekeeper followed us there and opened up the door and once we were in the kids (all 4) began to cough and sneeze. I came in to the heavy smell of cigarette smoke. So the housekeeper then reached for some God awful spray that magnified everyones allegies and asthma. So she lifted the windows and said she didn't understand why the room smelled the way it did and then blamed the previous customers. My husband saw the shape his children were in and immediatedly went back to front desk to try to get that problem resovled, while the rest of us were left holding our bags/groceries etc.. So the manager came and found ANOTHER room that would accommodate us all but we had to relocate upstairs. Now this whole trip was on behalf of my sister's Graduation/50th birthday party In which we were holding her up because we've got HOTEL PROBLEMS. Finally we move into our 3rd room and everything looked real nice......except.....I noticed my wash clothes were stained with dirt and later that night when we returnded from my sisters party, one of our bathroom toilets had over flowed in which we had to call maintenance to mop up pee/dookie water. Couldn't wait for the morning to go home. I must commend the front desk for giving us half off each night but for all the problems we faced, the whole stay should have been free. I warned them about my review.

Could be cleaner. Front entrance was filled with blowing leaves and cigarette butts. Not a good first impression. Shower was moldly and the curtain had purple stains all over it. The kitchen drawer was missing. Great breakfast and staff.

The room was dirty but it was corrected by the manager and I was sent to the nearest Courtyard as I requested. This was the first day for the new manager I later found out. I think she will have the hotel heading in the right direction and get it back up to the standards we are used to while staying.
