Yoga
The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, referring to the union occurring between mind, body and spirit.
Many people think yoga is just stretching. But yoga is really about creating balance in the body through developing mobility, strength and flexibility.
The amazing thing about yoga is that your practice is always evolving and changing, so it never gets boring. Although the poses themselves do not change, your relationship to them will.
In addition to practicing the poses, yoga classes may also include instruction on breath, yoga’s ethical system of the yamas and niyamas, meditation, and/or chakra/energy work. Specific yoga can be used for physical therapy on sore joints or muscles, core strength and back problems.
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by laying on hands and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words: Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
