Trumpeter swans in great number were out on the Red Rock Lakes. We had binoculars and a spotting scope but would have liked to be closer. But its their refuge, not mine, so I get it. The ranger station had lots of good information and history. They were shorthanded the day we were there but we did get a chance to have a quick chat with a very knowledgeable ranger.

Awesome place to see and fell wilderness in Montana. Road goes from Lima to West Yellowstone. Mosquitos are fierce.
