We had a brief but exceptional stay at Red Pine Wilderness Lodge. The new owner, Mike, was very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. A great guy! Lady Evelyn Lake is beautiful and has a nice variety of walleye, perch, pike and smallmouth. There are many smaller, lakes you can hike in to where the fish are plentiful and the hikes were unique and beautiful. We met delightful folks at the camp which made the evenings fun. The cottages are equipped with the basics, but have everything you need. Between the good folks and the lovely setting, I am already dreaming about a return trip.
Well hello everyone 2nd year back icefishing can't tell what a place Mike the owner just can't stop over doing it we had a blast already booked for next year Mike see u next year
Our stay at Red Pine was fantastic in July 2022. We were greeted at Mowatt Landing by the new owner, Mike, who helped us load our gear into his boat and delivered us to our private dock; steps from the patio of our huge cabin. The trip into the lake was unique in that it involves a short trailer ride without having to get out of the boat to bypass the dam and gain entry to Lady Evelyn lake. The cabin had plenty of room, was clean, and so well shaded that we thought it had central air when we arrived. After a very short unpacking sprint, Mike provided us with a map of the lake and the current fishing hotspots and we hit the water immediately. The fishing was fantastic all week! The lake is huge and provides a lot of great spots to fish, as well as a couple of streams feeding the lake with waterfalls that were beautiful to check out. Mike and his staff were always available and attentive and made our stay here great! Thank you Mike for a great week, and we hope to visit again in the future!
The new owner Mike was an excellent host! The cabin had everything we needed plus more. Comfortable beds, stove, BBQ, fridge, your own private dock and fishing boat. Everything you need to enjoy a true Northern Ontario wilderness fishing trip. We will be back next year!
Place needs a lot of work. Pictures on website are old. Cabins not sealed well, prepare to battle mosquitoes. Ask lots of questions before booking. Fishing good, not great hot weather was factor .
Mike and his staff provided top notch service, that made are stay and experience both enjoyable and memorable. Setting is unsurpassed and picturesque
Great place with a great owner.
