What a beautiful location! The Lodge and room were wonderfully rustic. The views of lake and mountain incredible. Room was very clean and big, bed comfy and free coffee in rooms. Price was reasonable. Definitely one of my favourite places I have ever stayed!Rooms: 5/5
The camping area and the lodge were lovely. The staff were so kind, the beach and water were great too. shallow so you can walk out a ways to get your body use to the coolness. Wifi is 5$ and spotty right by the lodge so good for checking things quickly.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating! Food was great too. There’s a beautiful view of the lake and Mountains. You can fish right from the shore!Rooms: 5/5
If I could give them 0 stars that would be more accurate. Customer service? I couldn't even get a price without being disrespected by the owner. I'm not sure if he was having a bad day or that's just his personality but the owners behaviour will keep his rooms vacant. This review is to save you the experience I had. And that was over a phone call. Imagine staying there
Spartanly furnished, clean, budget rooms at a great location. I stayed one night on 30th June, 2022, during my southbound trip from Tuktoyaktuk to Scottsdale, AZ. Check in took some time, as host was looking after her family and the front desk. Luke warm water for showers and practically no WiFi.Rooms: 2/5
Two kids, two dogs, two cats through the Cassiar/ALCAN in winter. Owner wife gave my kids trick r treat bags checked in on 30 Oct. Super thoughtful and considering the location and time of year, super meaningful! Warm bed, warm water, clean, great views, and perfect location in Iskut. Internet is limited to 400mb. People need to understand the cost of internet service in remote areas. It’s limited because city-life type folks will download movies, music, etc. which will cost a fortune for the owner. I was stoked wifi was available and the owner husband had no issues giving me a few extra tokens.
The location was good and there is a gas station about 2 miles up the road that has food also. My biggest complaint is the internet service. You get 400mb for the day, you have to pay $5 for another 400mb or $25 for 400mb for a week. There wasn't a way to pay for this online so you'd have to go back into the office and pay for another wifi code.
My husband and I did a long term stay here. The rooms are clean, spacious, and made us feel like we were at home. There are laundry facilities on site, as well as a kitchenette also available for booking. PLEASE MIND YOUR EXPECTATIONS BEFORE COMING HERE: there is no cellular service in the area and wifi is very expensive. It is not like the city where they are able to have unlimited internet. There are no restaurants in the area, there is a store 2miles north in iskut where grocery can be bought, as well as another in dease lake, roughly 50 mins away. If you are staying long term, I suggest picking up some things at walmart in terrace, as prices tend to be more expensive. FOR YOUR SAFETY WHILE DRIVING: in winter months, i would strongly reccomend good winter tires/chains, 4wd/awd. The roads are winding, and have some sharp turns. Please be careful, as there is no cell service, and a tow can cost around $2000. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay here, Mich and Brenda are very kind. They also have 3 pets with the most wonderful personalities.
Stunningly beautiful setting. We stayed one night with full hookups for our 30 foot trailer. Owners were very friendly and Sean helped us with a welding repair. Everything wasn’t up and running yet but looks like facilities would be sufficient there. There was a lodge/cabins that looked good from the outside. Summer swimming, fishing, kayaking etc will be amazing. It is one of our favorite spots on our trip so far. Could of stayed forever!
Absolutely stunning views of the lake and mountains. We set up our tents right on the shore, the water was still low since it was so early in the season. The night was so quiet, just loons and lapping waves. Standard camping facilities, the flush bathrooms and showers were a plus, though you pay for each shower. The lodge looked nice, but we didn't get any meals when we stayed. It was a perfect place to stop on the Cassiar Highway.
