False advertising of amenities in online booking. Lists multiple pet friendly rooms - but in fact only has select rooms available. Needs to ensure accuracy across platforms.
“Honey I’m home”nI stayed at the MStar hotel in Kitimat as a handicapped guest. I stayed in the accessible room for a week. During that time I enjoyed all of the amenities offered including a shower with bench that was easy to use and complimentary deluxe coffee and morning muffins. The staff was always welcoming and were addressing me by name on the second day. I particularly enjoyed the seating areas in the lobby which had soft chairs as well as higher tables and chair groupings. I did not feel confined to my room. This hotel gets a high recommendation from me.
Amazing Stay at MStar Hotel Kitimat! The staff was incredible and friendly. Montana hooked us up with 2 rooms speedy fast pretty last minute. Analisa was a late night savior. Was willing to help us with a smile on her face in the wee hours of the night! I didn't get the name of the lovely lady working front desk in the morning but she made sure we knew how to work the AMAZING coffee machine in the lobby. 10/10 would recommend this hotel to others and would 100% stay here again :
Sadly, this is my first one-star review, but please learn from my experience.nnDo not rent rooms if you need to leave a cash deposit, you will find it missing and the RCMP cannot help civil. If you look, you will see that It has happened to other reviewers.nnPlease take this experience seriously and keep your hard earned money.nnI was at MStar for a one night stay. I forgot some of my clothes & other personal effects in a single dresser drawer, as I intended to pack them away.nLater, when I was onsite performing an equipment repair, the hotel had attempted to contact me. I returned their phone call immediately no one had answered.nWhen I finished my work and went to collect my deposit along with my forgotten items, which they had already removed from my room, they said they would not give the deposit back because they thought I was not checking out. Except that they already took out my belongings and rented the room to someone else.nnLet me be absolutely clear, I left no mess, no damage, and my personal effects that were forgotten were in one drawer as I intended to pack them away.nnWhile the staff appeared that they wanted to give my deposit back, there was a sense that the money was already gone.nThey gave me the GM's phone number to resolve. The GM, Vanessa, did not seem to care about the deposit, and it was clearly 'my problem'. She has made no attempt to contact me since.nnThere is no accountability for this operation, and if you leave cash as a deposit of 'incidentals', it is at risk of seizure for any reason that can be made up.nnThere are not a lot of options in Kitimat, they know it, so book carefully.nnLooking at how she has responded to other guest reviews, grab your popcorn, this is sure to be a sizzler.nnQuick update: After speaking with the Ontario Provincial Police, it has been suggested that I speak to a sergeant in the Kitimat detachment as this is, according to them, 'starting to look like a fraud situation'.
