Ray's No Frills

This is my new favorite grocery store, no frills prices are way! Better compared too, for example save-on-food, or where I always use to shop safeway. There is more of a selection there but for double the price. Can't beat 99 cents for a 2 litre of Pop. So great prices good enough selection, friendly staff, lots of parking, bathrooms. I'm deducting one star for too much yellow everywhere. It's mildly nauseating. Great grocery store recommended.

Stupidest rule that you’re only allowed a hand basket in self checkout and not even allowed the tiny carts!! I didn’t even have over 15 items yet I was told to go into the other regular line which there were tons of people and only two tills open at the busiest time of the day! Does this mean wheelchairs are not allow through as well? I’d say the long line waiting for regular check out is more of a fire hazard then a small cart going through self check out! Such a joke I’d say! If people just want to get in and out of the store with only a few items don’t restrict self checkout to hand baskets only because maybe there are individuals that are unable to carry their items and rely on the use of a push cart!

A nice clean and well stocked grocery experience. While their selection is obviously more limited due to their size compared to superstore, they have all the essentials without having to drive half way across town. Great for mid week shopping runs. Prices are good too. Check their flier for the best deals.

The shop is very clean and tidy There are always good offers here.

Very friendly cashiers in this store. Their fruit and veggies always look so fresh. Lots of dairy selection and great deals. This store is so easy to find what you are looking for.

Last sunday I ordered for pick up and their quality really went down. I had milk that was going to expire in a week and the lady with the bob/grey hair that gave me my order told me that's too bad. You cant exchange it or refund because our policy is 5 days to expire and this is a couple over that. So I asked for the manager because I'm not going to pay almost $10.00 for a gallon of milk that will expire in a week. The manager rolled her eyes, neck and head in dissatisfaction with my request. Very noticable reaction which wasn't appreciated. I looked through my order again and found that there were other issues and she was not impressed with me finding problems with my order. I felt violated. I thought I was the customer, I've never had such rude employees before there but maybe they get their attitude from their manager she looked very stressed. My lettuce was an empty bag with a tiny bit of lettuce in it. I returned it and the manager said ALL THE LETTUCE EVERYWHERE IS LIKE THAT, but when I went into walmart their iceberg lettuce was full and hard packed like normal. When I got home I realized they gave me 5 items that were the wrong size item. I decided to call the 1-800 number instead of dealing with them again. I wont be ordering from them ever again. Terrible experience. I'm not sure where the owner was but I hope he realizes how his choice of management and staff acts when hes not around. Whenever hes there when I picked up before everything was perfect until this last sunday. Almost everything was wrong with my order.

This is a clean, tidy and very yellow store that is very similar to, but smaller than a superstore. They seem to carry the same product lines. The produce section seems ample, but the meat section less so. I saw the lowest price in the last 5 years there on striploin, and it wasn't trimmed as lean as I would like, but for 5.97 a pound what do you expect?

The elderly lady at the self checkout was so unnecessarily rude today I'm still surprised. There were ZERO people at the self checkout lane so I decided to use it. I had one basket I carried over that had exactly 20 items in it so I figured it was easy enough to check out my own things. I had to flag the lady over to get three bags cause she initially was over talking to some other worker and not at the line. After I was done bagging everything, she came up into my space and sharply said, "Next time I'm not letting you use this line." I was really startled at how snappy she was being and said "pardon me?" Sounding agitated, she said, "This line up is only for 15 items." I told her that I only have 20 items and there were no people in line at all, so I didn't think it would be an issue. She continued to scold me saying, "well that's why I let you get away with it this time. Next time I will not be allowing this." And then she stormed off. Once I grabbed my things to leave, she snubbed me entirely and just being so strangely angry and I don't understand why? I'm still dumfounded at this behavior and I just find it so unnecessarily rude/disrespectful. Not one to write reviews but this left such a sour taste in my mouth and I'll be thinking about this negative interaction all day.

While they don't have as much variety as superstore they're so much better stocked sometimes and I prefer their fruit/produce.

Better organic selection than you'd expect! I usually avoid places in general with bright yellow signs screams "cheap" to me but I was pleasantly surprised when I finally looked inside out of curiosity. Friendly service, good prices, well organized and self checkout makes everything quick. 4 stars only because I couldn't find absolutely everything I was looking for but if I could give 4.5 I probably would.
