DO NOT BRING YOUR TV HERE, They have had our TV for months and always have an excuse of why it isn't ready. We finally got our TV back after almost 2 months and it stopped working that day again. The excuse was we rushed them and they didn't have time to test it. They have now had it another 3 weeks and we still aren't getting anywhere with them. At this point we just wanted our money back but they will not refund us. DO NOT BRING YOUR TV HERE!

So we have an LG LED Smart TV that needed fixing. My father being an electrical engineer back in his day thinks he can easily fix anything & gets me & my sister to help because he likes us to teach us how to do this stuff. I grew up being able to fix a VCR, a vacuum & even small appliances, that weren't too difficult to figure out. NOW a smart TV is by no means a VCR. I am not an expert at fixing televisions or something that I do on a regular basis mind you. But normally, if you understand how a circuit board generally works on something like a television you can figure out what is causing the malfunction with a couple of indications. My sister at first thought assumed this was the power supply unit that was fried; not giving enough surge to light up the screen and didn't believe that it was a backlight issue. I had beg to differ, after doing some research on forums this could be common mistake associated with the LED back lights. I wanted to be optimistic though because if it was a LED back light issue then we had our work cut out for us especially after reading (briefly) the step by step process of how we would get in there to replace it sounded like a HUGE pain in the ass but nope my sister insisted it was a common issue with this brand of TV...? I didn't argue, she's smarter than me and the LG customer rep told me "Yup, it's probably that". Btw, LG does not sale their parts to consumers, just to certified LG technicians because they don't want anyone to work on their televisions but them so I don't know if their customer service people are purposely misleading or just dumb because they gave us wrong part numbers and wasted time and money ordering wrong parts, TERRIBLE but talking to Phillips is a lot more helpful and you can even directly order from them. So anyway, to cut the story short this is what happened - After a frustrating ordeal, we finally decide to just take it into a repair shop to have a diagnostic done for 50 bucks. It turns out, I was right. My father receives a call from Andy, the technician from Quick TV Service & Repair after a week, confirms IT WAS the LED Backlight strips that was causing the issue and needed replacing. My father hangs up the phone and says that he is only charging $30 to fix and replace it. I thought "$30?! WHAT?! That is CHEAP, I mean DIRT CHEAP! That didn't sound right? Because usually repair shops wouldn't charge under a 100 to repair something like a television unless it was a super easy fix. But hmmm...maybe I'm wrong, okay, $30 it is I guess. Well my dad sends his friend who lives nearby to go pick up the TV (He doesn't speak a word of English). Turns out, my father misheard Andy on the phone and the cost of the repair is actually three hundred AND thirty dollars. Yeah...not surprised but my father was pissed thinking that Andy purposely fooled him about the repair. That wasn't the case at all, obviously a miscommunication here because I remember a few years back...changing a burnt lightbulb in a LCD TV for part alone was 100 and the labour is like 300 to 400 AND THIS estimate was in Washington in the US. So before this could get any uglier, I tried to handle this situation myself instead of my dad talking to Andy about the cost of repair which he had already done after verbally agreeing to do it on the phone... Poor Andy, poor dad and poor me! I tried my best to be really nice & explain the misunderstanding but I already knew the outcome of this & of course Andy went on to explain this was kind of a delicate procedure with the black light, he had to split open the screen to remove and replace the strip...yadda yadda yadda.... started jogging my memory about the "pain in the ass" part. The TV was bought at a bargain discount for 800 & paying 400 to fix it wasn't worth it but what can be done at this point? So I tried to get some kind of discount to calm my father down but to no avail. So my dad goes to the shop, MAD. I called ahead of time to warn them. Anyway, Andy took it like a champ, kept quiet while my dad made a big scene. Thumps up for this place. .

The most awful repair shop I've ever come across. If you're reading this, do NOT give them business.
