Beautiful Campsites on Nottawa Lake in Marshall, Michigan

Story

The 300 Acres of the Nottawa Lake Preserve rests among the low, rolling green hills of South Central Michigan. A man-made water inlet leads into a heavy forest, where nature trails often reveal raccoons, opossum, geese, deer and red foxes. With access to the lake from the preserve, visitors can enjoy fishing for bass, northern pike and bullhead.

Just seven miles away lies an antique-hunter’s paradise in Marshall, Michigan, the “City of Hospitality”. Hundreds of restored turn-of-the-century homes and buildings grace the streets of Marshall, including the Honolulu House, Governor’s Mansion and Capital Hill School. Each September, visitors enjoy the Historic Home Tour of these 19th century homes.

Battle Creek, 20 miles from the preserve, was named for a skirmish that took place on the banks of the creek in 1825 between an Indian and a land surveyor. The town is home to the Kellogg and Post Cereal Plants as well as many other food-packing industries.

Preserve elevation is 960 feet. Winter highs are 30 degrees, lows in the teens. Summer highs are 80, lows 60.

We had an emergency on the day we were to arrive and were unable to make it. They refused to give us any money back saying we didn't cancel 7 days prior to our reservations when we didn't even have our reservations 7 days prior. I understand keeping a deposit or the cost of 1 night but to not give us a dime back is poor business! We will never try this place and will tell everyone we know who camps to avoid it as well!! Not recommended believe it or not emergencies do happen!!
The nicest campground in the area! A short easy drive off of I-69. Paved roads, clean bathrooms and showers. Seasonal spots are nice roomy. Very well kept and clean quiet park. Friendly staff . Has beautiful views and sunsets. The pool is always sparkling clean ‍.Rooms: 5/5
Tim the manager is extremely disrespectful. This was our first time visiting this camp ground and they showed up at our site complaining about how we parked past the electrical box. We spent over an hour parking the camper to get the camper level the night before they told us to move. Tim threatened to kick us out if we did not move within 15 minutes. Did not give us any assistance when I told them we had difficulty getting it level. I will never return to this camp ground again. They will tell you they have rules that are not listed on their site or on the paperwork they give you. Upon arrival we were given a lot that was a gully and did our best to be courteous to our neighboring campers.
We visited some friends and went to a car show here last week. Everyone was very friendly and the camp grounds were very tidy. We met a lot of very friendly people and had a great time.
As a recent widow I am trying to regain my life and attempted my first camping trip to Quality Camping in Marshall. It was very stressful hauling the camper alone and then backing it into the camping spot. The spot I was assigned was extremely uneven and it was difficult to find level ground. After an hour of trying I was finally successful and spent the night. 24 hours later Tim the manager showed up to my site demanding that I needed to move my camper, it was too close to the electrical and they didn’t care about the difficulty with finding a level spot. Their hospitality and treatment of guests is deplorable. They have no compassion at all and threatened to kick me out of the campground if it wasn’t moved with a few minutes. Luckily my camping neighbor offered to help me move my camper. I do not recommend this campground, their Christian values are not evident in their business practices but only in their website. James 1:27 commands that widows should be looked after not made to feel inadequate or unwelcome.
"300 acres" means 250 acres of corn/40 acres of seasonals/maybe 10 acres of tight campsites for orhers "Well supplied camp store" means 50 items stretched across shelves. "Large swimming pool" actually was nice but not large. "Clean bathrooms & showers" where drains back up on you while showering. Beach "swimming" was disgusting Lots of biking/hiking trails Playground equipment is very dated, broken and unsafe Putt putt was taped off Church service was a nice bonus
All staff was super sweet and accommodating!!! My diverse, blended family felt completely welcome. My kids said volleyball had no nets and mini golf wasn't kept up in comparison to what they are used to. For teens could be difficult to keep them occupied but plenty of playgrounds for younger kiddos!!
Very well kept campground on 300 acres. Staff friendly, nice amenities, easy to get to location. We were pleasantly surprised with the First annual car show. Great weekend!
Quality Camping is a beautiful place for the family to relax, catch up, and talk about the week before. The community holds celebratory events for holidays thoughout the summer. Like a hot dog roast for memorial day, and fireworks on the lake for 4th of July. There's also a medium sized outdoor pool for the really hot days, several miles of wooded trails to explore, and a Sunday church service at the Nicely Center. This campground has become a second home, that serves as our weekend retreat. I simply love it!
One of the rare businesses not afraid to Express their Goos Christian morals on literature, good people here and the owner always allows me to stay a couple hours past checkout to bond with my children and family. Lota of great family activities including Horseshoes, Putt Putt golf, basketball, biking, fishing and more! They even have church service Sundays by the lake with a nice outdoor sanctuary. I love this place and so does my whole family
