We ended up at Que Padre by accident, but we're so glad we did. The staff was friendly and helpful. The menu was full of original but familiar fair. Between us we tried five different flavours of tacos and all were delicious. The churos were delicious too.
I had a wonderful experience here. Staff were extremely pleasant and very accommodating to my needs. The chips and Guacamole I had as an app were really good, my friend and I shared them and he raved about them as well. I had three different tacos and a cocktail and all were great, I really liked the beef one. Great atmosphere to go with friends. It was really inviting and immaculately clean. The owners were open to criticism and will appreciate and feedback a patron would provide. This is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in Fredericton.
Probably one of the only places in Fredericton with frozen margaritas! I start with that because I love frozen margaritas. I had a virgin one and was equally delicious. The food was ok. I had a burrito which was mainly rice, small traces of beans, corn and chicken. Very small traces of cheese. I would have loved equal or close to equal amounts of beans/corn/rice/lettuce/cheese. My husband had the expensive meal ,rice and shrimp which again very basic, rice with 5 shrimps. The interior is very nice, great customer service. 5 stars for frozen margarita/ interior vibe /customer service. 3 stars for food.
Not the best. Atmosphere is ok - I get the vibe they're going for. As for the food... Let's get into it. I ordered the tostadas thinking it would be a decent starter. It is literally 3 chips yes 3 served on a piece of wood with some garnishing on it for $9. Let's move into the tacos. I got the chicken tacos and they were ok but they were dry which is quite an accomplishment seeing as they were marinated and they were chicken thighs. You get 3 for $15. At $5 a taco they've gotta be really great but I would have been just as satisfied at Taco Bell. Not learning from my mistakes, I ordered the nachos since I was still not nearly full. Big mistake. The nachos were underwhelming. Again, dry pile of chicken on some nachos with dipping sauces. $15. Not worth. It's a place where you might take someone on a first date when you don't wanna eat much and look like you're trendy. But you will definitely be stopping at McDonald's on your way home. Anyway, hopefully the owner takes this feedback and tries to improve.
Highly recommended! Food is amazing, beef taco was so good. Definitely will come back
*Edit* We were given compensation for our previous experience and invited back to a far different environment. I wish it were like that the first two times. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, food and drinks were delicious and quick. If service stays like this we will certainly be back many times. If I could give no stars I wouldI've given one. It took 10 minutes for anyone to even approach our table, when we finally did order we got our side of tortilla chips first I can understand that as they're just chips. Restaurant was not even half full. No one came back to check on us at all. Sat there for 20 minutes with drinks empty to the side only 3 tables in the restaurant including us. Service was the worst I have ever ever had. Never going back. Margarita was way way too salty as well.
The staff were attentive and the service was fast. The decor is cute, too. But the food was, overall, a disappointment. Small portion sizes, and the food tasted just ok… not great and not what I’d expect for the price. Especially disappointing was the guacamole, which had seemingly no seasoning -it was basically a mashed avocado with some onion mixed in. The Pina Colada I had was tasty, and the presentation was pretty. The beer selection was small and only domestics; I expected a small ordering from a tequila bar, but one local craft option would be nice. Lastly, there appears to be no soundproofing inside, so it was very loud from all the other customers talking, and difficult to hear my partner across our two-person table.
All around wonderful experience! Great atmosphere, delicious drinks specifically the frozen mango jalapeño margarita and food! We shared a bunch of apps and they were all SO tasty. The service was wonderful as well and the price seemed reasonable and on par with similar quality restaurants in town. We can’t wait to go back and will recommend to family and friends.
Unfortunately we had a very poor experience here. Main dishes came before appetizers, huge chunks of tough avocado in the guacamole, steak pieces were fatty and essentially inedible, margaritas were overly sweet and didn’t have proper rim. The manager Emily did a great job of soliciting and listening to our concerns, but sadly her professionalism could not redeem the mediocre food. Such a waste of money :
What’s in a name and do you know what it means? I asked my waitperson and they didn’t know so I looked up on a translator app. That Father? Wait, what? Chips $2.50 best bang for your buck and Pico di gallo that was overwhelmingly onion more than any other taste, another $2.50. The chips are thick but not hard, giving it a nice crunch. Cannot say I was impressed with the tacos. The Al pastor was truly NOT the flavor of experience, to the point of being kinda gross. The sauce and toppings didn’t help either and I wouldn’t do that to my stomach again unless I was willing to pray to the porcelain god later. The beef tacos were better and had more content but at $5 each, I’d rather get a few Taco Bell tacos and feel more satisfied. Servers were attentive but that doesn’t make up for Esa Mierda
