Welcome to Pure Self Salon N Spa! My name is Englika Wadera and I am excited to announce the arrival of Markham`s newest Aveda concept salon. After months of preparation, I invite you to join us and embrace your Pure Self. My dream of opening a salon emerged in New York where I worked and received training under many well known stylists such as Beth Minardi, Sam Villa, Vivenne Mackinder, Paul Mitchell, Robert Cromeans to name a few.

As a resident of Markham, I have had the pleasure of serving my community and clients from many different communities and walks of life. It is this reason that my passion has transformed into a vision of creating a positive and inspiring environment where my clients not only end up looking good, but feeling great about themselves as well! Nothing can compare to the experience of watching the joys and smiles of clients who truly appreciate a look they could never have imagined. This is what Pure Self signifies. It signifies my passion, my vision, my love of hair and my love for helping others.

I've gotten my hair cut by Allison for years now (even before she started working here), but never ventured into Pure Self because I thought it was a little above my price range. Well it was worth it! The hair cut includes a relaxing scalp massage and wash/blowdry and a thorough consultation about what you want before you dive in. The stylists always check on you during the appointment and are knowledgeable about all different hair types and styles. I was impressed by the service (they offered tea or coffee) and the friendly conversation/banter between everyone! Such a friendly and welcoming environment. I'm saving up for some colouring in the future! Love this place, and I will be back!

I tend to make last minute appointments and they always try their best to accommodate me. I love the highlights I got there, it turned out better than what I was expecting.  It is not cheap, but they do a superb job, and you get pampered the minute you step in, plus the location is convenient.

I spent a few years looking for a good salon (I've had so many terrible experiences), and I think I finally found it thanks to Nimisha who is an amazing hair colorist/stylist. So happy with my hair and she is such a lovely person.

Pure Self feels like home. Even though they have some of the best talent north of the city, everyone is approachable and I often learn a new trick of the trade. This is an Aveda full-service spa and salon,  so you can get everything from hair styling to hair removal (laser/thread/wax).

Went in a few months ago and spent about $400...
I arrived at 10:30am and didn't leave the salon until 4pm. I had dark brown hair and asked for an all over light brown... she messed up and I got charged for it... and my hair turned out to be a copper color. I received an email on what was put into my hair and I took it to an aveda specialist and they laughed in my face because they said the stylist at this salon ruined my hair and she had no idea what she was doing. She told me to complain and get my money back but by time I figured out how screwed up my hair was its too late. Don't go here. Save your money and time.
