Providence Happy Valley Immediate Care

I went to Happy Valley Immediate Care after a bout of severe abdominal pain that lasted several hours before finally subsiding. Pain was at least as bad as when I had appendicitis. When I got to the doctor's office I was feeling better but not great. Doctor did a quick examination, urine test, and told me I had diverticulitis and suggested antibiotics. I asked if it could be a kidney stone and he told me no, even though I had blood in my urine. Told me to get a CT scan that would likely take a week or two to schedule to confirm the diverticulitis or grudgingly said I could go to ER for a same day CT. I told him I would go to ER. CT scan at ER revealed I DID have a kidney stone and ended up having surgery that same day. Glad I didn't listen to the urgent care doctor! Prior to this experience, Happy Valley had been our go-to urgent care for the whole family. Now, I will never go back.

Went last night after slicing my thumb open on a steak knife, knew it was deep enough that a bandaid wasn't go to cut it. Nurse practitioner convinced me that the cut was straight enough I should glue it shut instead of stitches. Although the stitches would've hurt a lot more the job she did in my finger is horrible. The skin is all dying around the cut and I'm destined for a hideous scar. I'm sure she meant well but I'm very disappointed with the outcome. PS I followed her directions to the letter. :-(

I LOVE this clinic!! I have been a few times, and every time I have gotten in and out quickly, I've been treated with the utmost kindness and respect. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Some of the staff can come off as rude. However, there's a nurse there. Her name is "Trina?". (i hope i'm spelling that correctly) And she is AWESOME. She listens and actually tries to problem solve with you. I felt like i was in good hands with her.

Awful experience, don't go here. My doctor was an older lady and made me defensive rather than helping me solve the problem. It was almost as if she didn't believe me when I stated my symptoms. I will NEVER go back here again because of her. Save yourself the time and go to a different Providence location.
