Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center

I had my 3rd back surgery here in 2006. I have had to use the ER a couple times since then. After my experience with other hospitals I wont use any other hospital except for Meridian Park. Unless I had to. But I had nothing but great experiences here. A week stay after a fusion in my back. The nurses were all incredible. My trips to the ER I arrived in horrible pain and left feeling like a different person. Knowing i was going to be okay. The people that work there are all friendly and really seem to care about what they are doing.

ER isn't helpful, I had a seizure and all they did was take a brain scan. They didn't figure out why it happened nor ask me about my life to figure out what could have caused it. (I eventually found out possible causes with the help of google and my friends). Their solution was for me to take more expensive brain scans, instead of starting smaller. Only giving 3 stars because they have helped me tremendously financially. They cut a large portion of the bill off because i dont have insurance. I also applied for financial assistance and some have been very kind through the process. Others have been extremely rude & impatient through their busy day. *Recently, i was hung up on twice by the EEG "department" (...?) after calling 11 minutes after they closed. I get that you want to go home, but at least have the decency to answer and tell me you're closing up shop. Overall, the majority of service given is poor. For a hospital, thats absolutely ridiculous.

After my husband's total knee replacement surgery I had to hunt down a nurse in post op. Finally found one after 35 minutes. By this time his pain level was nearing a 9/10. The nurse I found wasn't our assigned nurse so it took another 40 minutes to finally get his pain meds. It then took a couple days to get his pain under control. In the meantime they did not have good ice packs for him. The swelling was excessive and I had to request pillows to elevate his knee and adjusted the bed myself to get his knee above his heart (common post op treatment and common sense). Because the pain was not under control and he had developed blood clots he had to remain in the hospital an extra day. On that day the nurse noticed drainage so proceeded to remove his bandage and in doing so ripped off several blisters that had develop due to the extreme swelling. The nurse was freaking out and didn't know what to do. She tried to clean with alcohol which burned like hell! Had his bandage off for quite a while and then called a wound care specialist. No one could explain the blisters. He then developed strep G infection, likely from exposure at the hospital, which led to two more surgeries, 6 weeks of IV and oral antibiotics, and subsequently may need to be on oral antibiotics for life. He is only 51!!! We will not elect to have inpatient surgery at Meridian Park ever again. They appear to be understaffed and undertrained.

People are rude, treage not listening to patients, and it's extremely dirty. Up grade to 3 stars from 1 doctor and nurse friendly and helpful.

We recently received care from the nurses and physicians at Meridian Park Hospital ER. The nurses were prompt, kind, and expert in their procedures. The physicians and specialists were thorough with clear expertise in emergency and advanced care, ensuring we had the safest outcome and clearest diagnosis possible. The imaging staff explained and reassured us. Overall excellent experience and we are very appreciative.
