Progressive K9

Rob and Alexis has been tremendous help in toning down the leash pulling, reactivity all while improving the obedience of our 9 months old German Shepherd! We did the 6 weeks program and week after week we can tell that our GSD was making great progress in obedience towards basic commands and slowly building up more confidence. I also felt that throughout the 6 weeks, I have built a better understanding and relationship with my dog. There were family members who were a bit worrisome of my dog, but now they feel comfortable and safe around him! Rob and Alexis have been amazing, from helping me with my obedience to accepting me into their PSA community. Ashley has help me more than I could ever thank her for , for teaching me all about ckc obedience. And helping me get started in competing . I’m so happy to be apart of the PK9 community with so many amazing people I can learn from !

Ashley at PK9 was amazing to work with. Over the span of 4 training courses, Ashley helped my nervous wreck of a 6 month old rescue puppy grow her confidence and skills in leaps and bounds. So thankful for the team at Progressive K9, and an absolute necessity if you’re looking for clear information and support in training a healthy, smart, and calm life-long companion.

I cannot sum up the gratitude that I have for Progressive K9 in one post, but I will try. Day 1 when we arrived with our dog, Rob was professional, informative, and direct. He told us what would need to be done and how he wanted to do it. We worked through reactivity with our dog over a 6 week program, and the results were incredible! It is very clear that Rob and Abbey put their all into helping dogs and owners overcome any obstacles. We plan on returning for more training with Progressive K9, and I've already recommended them to many friends with reactive/aggressive dogs.

I've had the immense pleasure of working with Rob, Alexis and Ashley over the years and most recently have been working with Ashley to achieve titles with my dogs. After attending her introduction to sports sampler class, I was hooked to Ashley's passion and way of teaching. Her focus is always to have fun while still achieving goals and percision. It's a breath of fresh air to be able to learn from someone who is such a kind and compassionate coach. She goes well and above what she needs to and her dogs are some of the most titled dogs I know. The proof of her methods is shown through her personal accomplishments.

I found Progressive K9 while looking for trainers through Google, I noticed they had really great reviews. I can tell you from our experience that those reviews are well-deserved and after our experience with them I also felt compelled to take the time to write a review. We have a 2 year old Aussiedoodle that is highly anxious. She was lunging at people, buses and bikes while on walks and was at risk of being permanently removed from her group walks with a dog walker because she was unmanageable. 5 sessions later with Rob and she has been welcomed back to her pack walks and is a completely different dog on a leash. Today we were able to attend our son’s soccer game with her, something we could not have done prior to meeting Rob. I found Rob really took the time to get to know us and our dog and he listened to our concerns and gave us approaches that would work for our family and especially our dog. Rob really understood our dog and us. I never felt like we were getting a one-sized fits all approach to training, Rob seemed to really consider our dog’s personality and our own in giving us tools and strategies. I really appreciated Rob’s patience with me as I learned to work through some of my own anxieties related to our dog’s behaviour. He helped me to understand how my confidence in handling our dog is related to our dog’s behaviour. As I have become more confident with the tools and strategies Rob has taught us I see the positive impact it has on our dog and on our family. We are so thankful we found Rob and his team at Progressive K9!

Great to finally have a trainer that spends time with my dog and I and gives the Human let's be clear: they're training us the right feedback, homework and tools that work for the individual and their pup and their specific situation/challenges. So sick of trainers with blanket advice. I would consider their approach balanced: clear communication and boundaries with the pup coupled with positive reinforcement. Much to my surprise, we've noticed a significant improvement and so grateful we ended up here. THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF.

Rob is the best. I brought my rescue dog, Loulou, to him when I first got her and she needed help with some anxiety and reactivity with other dogs. Then, 6 years later, Loulou came back for a refresher and we got great tips on how to help her age well and stay healthy and happy. He takes the time to get to know each dog's needs and give you helpful and realistic advice. I have referred friends to Rob and they have similarly great experiences. Ashley is a knowledgeable, empathetic and highly-experienced trainer. Her guidance isn’t cookie cutter; it is tailored to you and your dog. We are seeing her for behaviour modification for aggression issues and I really appreciate that she takes the time to discern our dog’s personality and quirks of which there are many!. It is obvious that Ashley cares a lot and helps her clients, canine and human, live their best lives together.

I contacted PK9 because I was interested in PSA and giving my young Malinois an outlet that is geared towards her drive. Needless to say, Rob and Alexis are the most knowledgeable trainers I have ever met. They want you to succeed and really put all of their heart into helping you get there. I’ve seen such a huge improvement in my girl not only in engagement and obedience but her confidence as a whole and I’ve never been happier!
