I visited the Princess of Wales Theatre earlier this year to see The Lion King musical, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The theatre itself is stunning, elegant architecture, beautiful décor, and a design that ensures excellent visibility from almost every seat. I was seated on the ground floor and had a clear, immersive view of the stage, but the balconies also looked well positioned.nnThe venue was spotless, and the staff were welcoming, professional, and very helpful in guiding us to our seats. The stage is impressively large, the sound quality was crisp, and the performance itself was spectacular. During intermission, snacks and beverages were available, which added to the convenience. While the washrooms did get a little busy, the wait was minimal and well managed.nnOverall, this theatre offers a perfect combination of atmosphere, comfort, and world‑class productions. Whether you’re a local or visiting Toronto, I highly recommend attending a show here, you’ll leave with lasting memories.
Went to see Sound of Music back in December, the theater space is quite nice with good seating and acoustics. It's cool to see the live orchestra below the stage, and the automatic set changes during shows.nnSome concessions are available for purchase, and they usually have a merch zone in the lobby to purchase souvenirs. While underground parking is available on site - be sure to get there early & get a good spot otherwise it takes a long while to get out.nnWill be back to catch more productions.
We came here on a classic Toronto winter, icy-rain kind of night. Gave ourselves way too much time to make it to the theatre, and got to learn that they only open the actual theatre doors to your seats around 20min before the show starts.nnHadn’t been to this theatre in quite some time, and was pretty happy with the comfort of the seats and the spacing in between the rows.nnAnd glad we were able to see the opening night of Mrs. Doubtfire…quite a short run in Toronto for this North American tour!
The Sound of Music today at the princess of Wales Theatre in live theatre feels timeless—filled with heart, hope, and the magic that only a live performance can deliver. This place is always magical.
What an incredible venue! The Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto is stunning—modern, spacious, and beautifully designed. Saw a spectacular show here the acoustics and sightlines are top-notch from almost any seat, and the whole experience felt luxurious and immersive. Staff are friendly and professional, location in the Entertainment District is perfect. Easily one of the best theatres for big musical productions. Highly recommend—pure magic!
