The restaurant is located upstairs so it’s hard to realize that it is full of customers and has very lively and posh vibe. I could only get table at bar as it was fully booked out on Saturday night. The burger was pretty high quality but drinks were too sugary for my taste. Icecream as well was too sweet and I would probably not get any desserts. Service was very nice and welcoming.
If you're a local islander, you know this place. If you're a city dwelling-ferry hopping weekender, you must get to know this place. Prima Bistro is not French fine dining but more like French-Pacific Northwest fusion cuisine. Located in the of Langley on Whidbey Island, the restaurant is a flight up the stairs to the second floor that has an outdoor balcony for ocean view seating and a deep dining room. The clams & chorizo entree was delicious & a generous portion. However, the well seasoned & slightly spicy chorizo overwhelmed the clams. The juice is excellent for bread dipping. The French onion soup was unique and not the typical standard one would expect but hearty & delicious nonetheless. The croque monsieur had heft with succulent ham with subtle but tasty dijon flavor. The calamari fritti was prepared just right and the harissa rouille was prima! Last time I visited was 11 years ago. So glad this place is still here. The food is still excellent. The waitstaff is professional, courteous, attentive & friendly. The interior has a theatre vibe and the ocean view is so NW. Support your local small businesses & independent restaurants
Amazing post Ragnar lunch. Service was totally spot on. Our waiter Joe? was terrific. We got chickpea fries and gougeres, and I had the spinach, feta, cherry tomato quiche. Good lord this is good food. What a great spot, great view, great lunch, great experience. Could not have sealed up our Ragnar trip any better.
Took a little adventure "over the water and thru the woods" to one of our favorite little French bistros to celebrate another successful, happy, and healthy trip around the sun . Bring on a little right-bank yum yum vino to pair with the slow-cooked beef bolognese, sherry-laden onion soup, and other goodies . Wrapped things up with an orange caramel creme brulee and chocolate hazelnut torte... but the fun for me was a little digestif absinthe fountain action. Love me some green fairy to finish the evening ‍
I would literally drink their blue cheese aioli with a straw. Absolutely drool-worthy. We enjoyed their super fun mixed drinks and amazing views! Service was excellent. The homemade pickles were spicy! And they accommodated Gluten Free!!
One of my favorites restaurants and must visit spots on Whidbey Island. Love their clams and chorizo, green salad, frites and steak tartare.
This french restaurant is a hidden treasure in Whidbey island. We had a wait time of about 45 mins on Sunday evening. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We ordered clamps, muscles and veggies, wine and desserts. The clamps were perfectly cooked with tomatoes, herbs and pork, the muscles were the best too, cooked with celery, garlic, onions. The wine tasted so well with the food. The desserts are a must try! The hazelnut chocolate moose was a perfect end to our delicious dinner. Definitely going to this place again.
The meal was amazing, all the food was tasty and fresh, I was there with my friend from French so she approved all the French meals Service was great and all the staff were nice and friendly.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
The service: excellent. We had a little mishap with our food and they replaced it. They offered us complimentary dessert, but we were satisfied with our meal so we declined. Ambiance: low-key with a semi-romantic vibe. Not noisy. Our table had a amazing view of the water and the spot felt intimate. Food: Delicious soup du jour! So rich, warm and flavorful. Also the right amount in a cup. Greens salad was okay. It was just a bunch greens a bit of goat cheese and the vinaigrette. I wished it had some pecans or something similar. It felt lacking. But still not bad. The duck confit was perfectly cooked, well done crisp on the outside but tender meat. And the lentils were generous and delicious. Overall a great experience.
Wow! I am in love with this place. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owner who is so so kind! We had the Argyl Chardonnay which was delicious. Both oaky and light. Very nice. We had the mussels and the chorizo & clams and wow it was so so so good. I can’t wait to come back and to support the people who own/work here cause they are delightful.
