I’m grateful for an institution like Preston Hardware. The service is always knowledgeable and very helpful. You are guaranteed to find for almost anything to complete the smallest of DIY projects, and even the larger ones. There is choice and representation from all the big power tool players. Need something for plumbing - no worries! Tackling a small electrical job, Preston Hardware has you covered. Looking to finish off your backyard oasis with a BBQ, smoker or pizza oven - it’s all here. What makes this place extra special is that it’s in the neighborhood - which makes it easier. To boot - if you shop online, there is an option for free delivery.
Pretty amazing to see this little store equipped with pretty much everything related to hardware--I was there to pick up this stuff used to fill the holes and gaps, and only this store has it. It's conveniently located, kept neat and organised, and not expensive at all. Definitely coming back here when needed. :

Today Dino came to my condo to take measurements for some roller shades. He was very courteous, friendly, patient and thorough. I was also impressed with the price. It was cheaper than Blinds of All kinds and some other discount blind stores. I recommend getting an estimate with Dino, he's a great rep for Preston Hardware!

Love this store that's in my community. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good stock. Linden is one of the most friendly and polite young man I think I've ever met.
If this place isn’t perfect, it’s pretty close. I think the staff are almost uniformly excellent. As an old guy, I appreciate hugely experienced and really knowledgeable staff, and that describes them almost adequately. I had a problem with my shower; I removed the shower cartridge and brought it in to show them, thinking that was my problem. No maker’s marks on it; one knowledgeable plumber I asked about it had no idea who had made it. At Preston, a really clever young man on staff in the plumbing boutique used his phone to identify the cartridge as an “Aquabrass” unit, made in Montreal. Preston sells them, and they had the exact cartridge in stock and sold me a new, functioning one. Boom! Done! Took the time to identify it, check stock, put it into my hands, and another hugely experienced techinican there managed to disassemble some plumbing parts I had partially mangled together, thereby making it possible for me to reassemble the whole business properly on my second try and get it working again, without having to find a plumber between Christmas and New Year! Probably saved me $500 or so, honestly. Because they really know what they are up to there. And, they’ll take the time to help you, if you can be a bit patient. Hugely capable, marvellous staff. Terrific place to shop. The BEST.
Many good experiences here but one that stands out: I was looking at buckets in the cleaning section $$$ lovely staff member advised they have 'cheaper' options in paint department $ Overall that saved me about $18.00 which isn't much but always good to save a buck!
Whenever I'm working in Centretown, the Glebe, Westboro, or Mechanicsville I get my inevitable daily forgotten items at Preston Hardware. Especially random little plumbing pieces! The store is well laid out and well stocked. The staff is always super helpful and very polite. Prices are a biiiiit high but you're paying for convenience of location. Be on the look-out for people talking with their hands
