Story

The Portland Street Head Shoppe opened in 1987 and was originally located in The Dartmouth Superstore. In 1997, we moved to The Portland Centre at 644 Portland Street next to The Hamachi House. After 12 years, we moved a few doors down, within the Portland Centre to our beautiful current location, next to Cora's. We are a full service hair salon offering both Hair and Esthetic services.

Specializing in Redken haircare, Dermalogica skin care products, and OPI nail care.

Karen is really knowledgeable, professional and easy to talk with. I love my new haircut, it is easy to maintain and we are planning for my next appointments to keep it moving towards the style I have in mind. My stylist Rachel is excellent!  This comment has nothing to do with my hairstylist - I did recently purchase Hempz moisturizer at your shop, as a gift, and was very surprised at the price.  It was 20% more than I paid for it back in August at a salon in Moncton, NB.  I 'll do some price research before I buy another product at your salon.Service:&nbsp;Hairstyling

I went to go purchase some shampoo, conditioner, and a leave in. The girls at the counter were AMAZING. So kind, definitely will be back. Also the products they recommended work very well, and I’m amazed!

My appointment was with Donna. She is a very experienced stylist. I was in desperate need of a color & cut & Donna did a wonderful job, as usual. Donna makes the time go quick, as we chat most of the time.

I saw Donnah and she did an amazing cut taking me from a grown out half permed bob to a really sleek undercut bob. I got lots of compliments from the other stylists as i left * * * I went back to Portland Street Head Shoppe and saw Haley Klatt for a bright pink dye job. She was lovely. Her technique was great, but the end result was less pink than I expected. She told me if I wasn't happy with it to come back. It's a beautiful dye job. It would be perfect for someone wanting to experiment with fun colours. The bright pink framing my face shows she knows how colour works to give an effect. I'd definitely see her again

Becca is AMAZING! She listened to me and made sure she understood what I wanted. She talked to me about how to get my hair healthy and keep it that way I bleach and dye it a lot. She had great energy and was super friendly and fun! I walked out with great hair, a plan for my hair.... and feeling great from her positive happy attitude. I will be going back to her for sure! My appointment was for my monthly cut with Donna. Donna is a very professional senior stylist. I have been a long time customer of hers'. She is a great conversationalist and interested in what I have been doing over the past month.
