Iconic dining in Chicago. Surprised that they even offered ketchup! Chicago door was perfect and the deserts are yummy. Gotta make a stop if you are a tourist or business traveler.

I know it is a dis service to be in Chicago and visit a chain for a Chicago Dog BUT I honestly couldn’t pass up the historic bright green relish! The all beef hot dog was delish and the Italian Beef on bread deep perfectly was awesome!
I've been to many of the portillos locations, but this is one of the originals. Great, fast food, fast service. We both got the plant dogs as we are veg, and loved them. Retro 50s diner vibe at this location. If you have wheels, this is all on one level, and has tables that would fine. Vegetarian options: My wife and I are both veg, and love the portobello burger and plant based dog.
Great staff, iconic food, awesome vibe. You can tell it was great by the incredibly long drive thru line. A great experience. Vegetarian options: Salads, grilled cheeses, desserts, etc... Kid-friendliness: Saw a lot of kids with parents eating there. Parking: Parking was easy. There were more patrons driving through.
I had such a great time! Everything was really good. Of course, you will also need a cake shake. The Cake Shake has chunks of delicious chocolate cake on the bottom that you have to dig out with a spoon. This place has the best milkshake I have ever had. They also have amazing hotdogs and If you like crinkled cut fries, and then this is your place as well. The employees here are so warm and definitely tend to all your needs. They do their absolute best to make your visit a positive experience and I appreciate that so much. I can’t wait to go back and bring my friends!
Just want to say that Linda does a phenomenal job at taking care of customers even on Sundays during all the chaos. Kudos to Linda for doing her best and providing excellent customer service! BTW the food is always great!
Been to Elmhurst location twice in the last 6 weeks, drive through. Both times my order was wrong, and not just slightly, completely wrong. I call to let them know that I did NOT get what I ordered. The response, both time? "We're doing the best we can, it's busy." Well guess what, your best apperantly isn't good enough!
Great consistent food every visit! Love the Italian beef. Hotdogs are good too. Recommend: get their gift card deal of $10 free for every $50 spent may be available only pre-Christmas.Food: 5/5
