Since I was maybe aged 6 my grandparents Joyce/Bruce Leadbetter use to always bring me up to there trailer was which is now my parents trailer has always been my most favourite place to go in the whole wide world. Going swimming, campfires and when I was younger heading down to the beach to get ice cream and ride the train.. I actually cried when they stopped running the train cuz I wanted to at lease ride it one time as a adult with my own kids cause when I was a kid only got to go on it once or twice I don’t remember.. I have my own 6 children each one has had the opportunity to go up with my parents but man I wish I drove and knew how to get up there without getting lost so we would be able to go with all my kids some have learning disability’s/autism. So staying put is difficult and well I’m not a octopus nor a athlete to be running all over the park looking for each one I swear sometimes it’s like there ears are painted on lol
Very clean quite park, people and staff are very friendly. Lots to do in town, very clean and towns people are friendly, they take pride in Port Elgin and it shows. Great place to camp. I deal for future seniors, to locate. People there take very great care of there units. Baseball park was great, very well used, so was able to watch games all weekend long.nCons! Electric power not enough for very big trailers, example, you have the A/C on and try to use other electrical devices and it shorts out. That's why.nWIFI, only in the front office. Camp is owned and operated by town, a number of people have requested more WIFI, not sure if they will comply. Had two teens in summer school online so they had to go to the office, met up with a senior who let us use her WIFI, so my kids were able to get there work done. Goes to show you how wonderful the folks are
Great park, fantastic facilities. Easy walk to the beach especially with the new staircase they have built. The only downside was the neighbors across the way are ridiculously nosy and watch you the entire time you are there. Also tell you how to do things they weren't asked for their opinions on. So salty...
Stayed here with the kids, awesome campsite. Site and bathrooms were clean and only 5 mins to the beach! Staff was very friendly and management was very caring and reasonable shawn.nCons... Couldn't stay all summer Haha!
Nice little campground, lots of friendly locals when I was there last on a bike trip. Met a few locals who helped me plan my route and adjust from a generally directionless bike ride to a hap-hazard brewpub tour through Ontario, stopping to meet some of their friends along the way. Not many trees at the campground which made setting up my hammock a little challenging but I made do with one tree and a fence post!
