Poirier O'Brien Veterinary Hospital

Dr. Caron was very kind and attentive during our first appointment with him. In that, we decided to switch our entire family of animals over to this vet for all future services (3 cats, 3 dogs) and had referred our clients as I groom nearby. Despite it being pricier it seemed worth it. I'm not one to write boring bitter reviews for no reason but.. Fast forward I call in a panic hoping to get info about my dog's locking together. They managed to get out of their cage and mate, just adopted one of these dogs so had every intention of getting them fixed in the upcoming weeks. I explain this, and ask if there is a pill or a way of evading the pregnancy. The girl switched to someone who spoke better English (I am perfectly bilingual so I have no issue switching back and forth if need be) and they proceeded to tell me they weren't aware of anything or any clinic or of what I could do. I felt brushed off because she was simply saying "dunno" to everything. I then hang up frustrated "so much for doing your job". I call another vet; "yes you can simply get her fixed it terminates pregnancy if it were to happen". I call back Poirier O Brien, they respond but don't greet me. I hear laughing and rustling (clearly not on mute like they thought) "Oh my god its the same girl she called back and hung up hahahaha" as I'm just sitting there on the line. Then I say "Wow I called back to ask why I wasn't informed that sterilizing her would work and you're laughing at me. very unprofessional." They hang up, it then takes 3 tries to get through and finally did said my side, now not so sure I even want to go back for the appointment I've made... Left a really bad taste in my mouth knowing they will tease and laugh about clients when they think they aren't listening. The receptionist who spoke to me afterwards was polite and attentive but seemed quick to shift blame on me mishearing despite it being clear as day. I understand trying to diffuse the situation however, I do feel turned off by this customer service. Hopefully this will be 5 stars in the future!

Thank you Dr. Shawn Caron and Isabelle for your kindness, compassion and incredible sensitivity during a difficult time. You took such good care of our dear golden retriever and will forever appreciate it. You are the best. thank you.

Our family has been dealing with them for a long time. Great veterinarians, prices not too outrageous. They are presently taking care of my 2 Bernies and have cared for my GSD's in the past. Highly recommended.
