Did not enjoy my visit to this store. The quality of the clothes was poor. Most of the clothes were from Shein or Forever 21 and are of cheap quality. The prices for the product are way too high for what you are getting. I saw a shirt with DRY ROT. A lot of the clothes have pilling or are torn. Most of the clothes are extra small-medium in size. If you have taste I would not recommend wasting your time trying to sell your clothes here. I do not know how this place stays open.
Long time customers and thousands of pieces. People trying to sell need to be realistic. Rent and wages cost much more than these clothes. We are lucky someone is there to buy it. Just drop it off and be grateful
They stolen the clothes if you not pay attention on what you bring to them. First time I found some of my clothes doesn't back to me, and also didn't show on the list they purchased. Second time I test, same, never go this location again!!! Count the clothes you bring to them, make sure you you get the money
Fairly tidy, staff were friendly, didn't take too long to process our items and they accepted a number of things. We didn't get a ton of cash from it but overall a good experience.
The store is not huge but still have a great selection of pre loved clothing’s and shoes. Staff are nice and checkout usually pretty quick. You can bring your used clothes and sell to them.
Shop here every few weeks and always find atleast 1 new piece! Good quality for second hand stuff brand name, not value village stuff and always have a wide selection to choose from. One of the larger stores I visit
Probably one of the best Plato's locations I've been to. I sell a lot of my clothes to them for a reasonable price and I also find a lot of cute last minute outfits I need
This location is big so there’s lots to look through - but this can be a good thing or bad thing depending on what size you’re looking for. I personally do find good pieces from time to time at this location, but I wish they had more stock in clothing for women that are sizes Large and up. In terms of selling to Plato’s, I think that they should make a better effort to buy more clothing items that are size L and up for women so that they can improve their stock in these sizes. I came in today to sell a bag full of clothing items that were sizes L-XL and they only ended up buying a few clothing pieces from me. I had a few items I felt like they could have purchased from me because they were in genuinely good condition especially compared to the clothes in their stock, new with tags, not old styles, or of the brands they carry e.g. Zara. They did take almost all of the shoes I brought in today which was nice and for sure, I’m grateful. I understand that some of the pieces I brought in to sell today were older/not popular styles I definitely expected this going in and I’m totally fine with most of the pieces they chose not to take from me - I just thought I would try selling them anyway. And I understand that PC purchases items from sellers based on what is trending at the moment which doesn’t seem like a good long-term business plan, and that their usual customers may be of sizes smaller than Large. But it is really discouraging as a customer who is not a size XS-M, to see a lack of stock in my size or larger and then witnessing PC not buy good clothing pieces in larger sizes from sellers. When I look at their stock in store for clothes in XS-M sizes, there is so much more stock to choose from and yet not all of them are great tbh - I see brands like Shein or clothes that trendy from 5+ years ago. So it’s disappointing to see that PC will buy those kinds of clothes from sellers just because they’re in smaller sizes and then not buy perfectly good pieces in larger sizes from sellers even just to increase their stock in these sizes and give people of bigger sizes something to choose from. It is also very discouraging to sellers; I know that for me, I don’t feel welcome or inclined to sell my clothes of larger sizes to PC when they don’t end up buying perfectly good pieces. I’m sure this is the case for other sellers trying to sell their L or Plus size clothing to PC as well. I continue to shop as a customer at this location because once in a while, I will find clothes that fit me and are my style. But this isn’t the case for all women who bigger than a size M. I think that PC can definitely improve their stock for Large and Plus women sizes by making a better effort to purchase larger sized clothes that meet their standards from sellers. They can easily turn down some of the poor quality clothing in smaller sizes from sellers and make the effort to purchase larger sizes from sellers if they have a daily/weekly purchasing limit or something. I really hope PC improves in the ways I mentioned above because purchasing clothes secondhand is of course sustainable, good for the environment, and is more affordable at times. They just really need to work on inclusive sizing.
I really like this location. Great selection of brand names. Staff are friendly and helpful. I always find something I like every time I visit.
Hi, I would like to warn all shoppers and management of Plato's Closet Richmond Hill, that recently and on two separate occasions, I bought two items from Plato's Closet Richmond Hill, and both items had obvious blood stains from the previous two owners periods. I didn't realize this until I got home and wanted to wear the clothes. This experience was so disgusting and traumatizing. This is so highly unacceptable and disappointing. I don't think I will shop there again. This is an example, among other issues, of poor management also.
