The pizza is your typical "rustic" Neapolitan style that seems to be all the rage right now. Everyone's doing it though, so what makes Brutta special? Nothing. The toppings are pretty sparse unless you order extra. Their crust is kind of chewy and soggy once you get past the wood-fired appearance on the outside. Prices are fairly high for what you get. I shouldn't have to double up on toppings (at an additional charge) just to have a pizza where the toppings cover the crust. The service we experienced was spotty. We waited for our pizza longer than others. They got our order wrong at first. I will say that everyone was nice - that counts for something. But ultimately, there's just not enough here to make me come back.

Pizza Brutta is one of my favorite fast casual places in Madison. Get the market pizza; it's always delicious!

Good pizza and yummy salad but rather overpriced.

The texture of the thin crust is very good (crispy) because they're baked in a high-temperature stone oven.

Not as good as the Monroe St location (which I gave 5 stars). I ordered a Rossoverde pizza. I am used to receiving a large heaping of arugula but the toppings this time were very sparse while there was a lot of (too much) pizza crust. Minus one star. The building interior (much like the pizza, incidentally) also feels very sparse and not cozy like the Monroe St location. The atmosphere, while clean and polished, felt too spartan. Minus another star.
