Quiet, serene, full of potential... The square was so different from the bustling hive usual on the holidays, but its grand tree and boarded up shops' graffiti murals still hold out hope for miracles of the Christmas and social justice varieties.
Beautiful place! If you haven't been, I encourage you to make an appearance. Its so nice and lit up especially later in the evening. I feel that this place gives portland life. Have coffee at the near by coffee joints, kick back and enjoy the amazing city lights near by.
My two daughters and I went to go look at the tree after dark and had a great time. People were singing in the background and the tree look fantastic! Definitely going to try to make this a tradition
Always an interesting time. There's always little art shows or dances or something going on, all while keeping social distancing in mind. Food carts are good, and there is seating. Make sure to check out the echo circle thing. It's always a blast.
Very clean and kid friendly. Food vendors and Starbucks are near by and open during the day. The Christmas lights and tree are a must see!

Not what it used to be. some food, and free wifi, along with a tree in the middle with lights on it. That's the good. In reality, its empty and devoid of life, with little to no community and meeting of people. Three stars is generous.
