The secret garden is beautiful, no doubt about it. But I love this location for another reason. The neighborhood. Pro tip for all you photographers out there: If you follow the path up the hill from the secret garden to the neighborhood above you’ll find loads of stunning backdrops for your portraits. I’ll add some recent photos I took just a few days ago. There’s no better way to spend a day in Portland than at the secret garden. While you’re there don’t miss the Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden. 3 gorgeous Gardens in one location. Keep in mind You’ll have to pay for parking but there is a decent restroom and beautiful tennis courts as well.
Stunning, emersive, zen.
I'm still not entirely sure where the actual garden is, there's no signs and everythings all one big garden. But if Google maps is accurate then I'm pretty sure I was in the right place, and it was very beautiful and serene. Theres a few benches and we just sat and watched the leaves and petals fall from the trees, it was very fairy-tale like.
Tiny garden. Very quiet and mysterious...curious on what the owner wanted to tell us with those roman numbers.
Aa small subsection of the larger rose garden. Not many people here, very quiet and relaxing
Cute little hidden garden!
Quiet and simple garden, keep it secret
This area is actually called Noble Field as it is the former location of the Noble House until the house was destroyed in a 1933 landslide. Also referred to as the Peanut Bowl due to its shape. See City of Portland Historic Resource Inventory document 0-563-00325. More information is also available in Laura O. Foster's book Portland Hill Walks. So odd that this listing has incorrect information for this historic area.
Stopped here on a whim while driving through Portland. Parking, picnic tables & bathrooms just above the garden by the tennis courts are perfect for a snack and bathroom break. Beautiful views.
Good for a nice stroll. Has a lot of different roses and fancy pants plants. Went with missus claus and checked out the grassy open amphitheater thingamajig. Didnt pay for parking. Rule breaker 2020. Yippee kay yay mother tucker.
