Here's the parking area for the hike up to Monroe lake in Pinecone Burke park. The trailhead is to the left of the picture up the gravel road which gains about the same elevation as The Grouse Grind in Vancouver except with more nature. A quick hiker/fisherman can reach the lake in about 75 minutes.

Nice site but it rained enough we expected Noah to show up. Bring something to keep you warm as no camp fires are permitted at any time.

Fabulous piece of paradise minutes away from the masses. Lots of trail options for hikers and mountain bikers. A quite oasis -- once you get far enough away from the riffle range. One of my favorite wilderness areas.
