Beautiful restaurant in the heart of downtown with waterfront seating. Our food was delicious! The baked Brie was to die for. Our server was amazing. She helped me find something to eat, keeping in mind I had a seafood allergy. Will visit again.

Great restaurant! Had an early supper, so the restaurant wasn't crazy busy. We ate at our table, then had our dessert and finished our drinks sitting on the couch by the fire. The food was delicious! The servers were very helpful with any questions we had about the area as well. Highly recommend dining here!

Stopped here with the family for dinner, we were told there would have been a 45 minute wait, but a group canceled and we were seated immediately. Clearly a popular spot, so we were lucky for sure. Food was fantastic, all 5 of us really enjoyed our meals. Server was great Michael I think, solid beer selection, excellent view and nice atmosphere and some some pretty good music to boot. Would recommend for sure, but maybe call ahead or make a reservation if possible. I had the Halibut en Papilotte pictured below. Cheers!

This was a delightful place. We arrived at around 5:30pm and were told it would be about an hour wait for food. This was something we had heard at another place and opted out of waiting. The difference? Pickford & Black offered to seat us while we waited. We each ordered a cocktail and placed our food order relatively quickly. Both cocktails were absolutely delicious. After around 50 minutes and not being hassled after declining to order a 2nd drink each,, the food arrived. I had the crispy chicken sandwich. It's honestly one of the best I've ever had. I'd 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a place to eat along the boardwalk.

Mu husband had called a couple days before to reserve a table by the window by the water for my birthday but when we got there they put us at a small table by a window not facing the water. The guy that seated us was not nice and said that's all they got but once we told our waitress that we were disappointed because we called 2 days before to reserve a table she was more than willing to please us and make us happy. She took us to a table in the dinning room that they weren't opening up but let us sit in there by a waterview window. I never got her name but she's the only reason we never got up and left. She was the only waitress on and it was a busy night but she was very good and fast, we never had to wait for drinks and the food was fast. We ended up enjoying our evening thanks to her!!

Came to Pickford & Black while visiting Halifax with my grandmother and mother. Service was quick and polite. The food was great, I ordered a tasty chicken sandwich with fries. Unfortunately, the patio was closed when I came due to poor whether, though the patio did look pretty nice. Seemed like a good place to come when visiting the Halifax waterfront and downtown. Highly recommend.

It’s been a while since I’ve been here, it was really busy but they were able to accommodate us fairly quickly. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Fantastic recommendations from our server and great pairings with our meals.

decided to stop in for dinner & oysters after walking the boardwalk all day. the oysters were beautiful, presentation was lovely and they tasted super fresh. highly recommend the rockafellers as well. i ordered the mussels & it was a very generous serving. the garlic butter sauce was perfection! took away one star because my husband ordered the lobster roll, and it was very small. maybe 6-7 small pieces of lobster. ultimately he was disappointed with his main and he felt silly as he left hungry lol. our server Pete was great. overall, views were beautiful and the vibes were perfect. would love to try brunch when we visit again.

Dined here recently with colleagues for a retirement luncheon. Great venue - awesome waterfront patio for the warm summer days. Enjoyed our meals and would eat here again.

We came with a group of 9 people. The ambient is very nice as well as the service. I ordered a Cesars Salad as a main dish and it was in the menü as a main dish as always its Salat, Croutons, Cesars Dressing, Bacon, Parmesan Cheese, as well as the Fancy Fries as a side dish. I got told, that the price of the side orders are only for the meals on that same page, and if i want it with the salat, the price for the side would be 6 dollar instead of 4 dollar. Well, it didnt really bothered me, so i paid 6 instead of 4 dollar. The cecars salat had no parmesan cheese, instead it was some Gouda or Emmentaler Cheese - the same Cheese i found on the fancy fries. By complaining they told me, that it is parmesan cheese couse there is diffrent types of parmesan cheese!???! Sorry ,but that was ABSOLUTELY REDICULUS! I would have had an understanding, if they would have run out of parmesan cheese and that would have been the reason they used another - but " on top" they tried to play me for stupid! My parents had hotels& restaurants their entire life, tested by the Michellin Restaurant Guide, and i do know the diffrence between a parmesan cheese and any other cheese. The bill came, and they had put themselfes the service tip of 10% on the bill!?!? Our waitress was very sweet and we would have given the the usuall 10-15 % , but that a restaurant puts the tip for the service themselfes on the bill - never had that my entire life. Sorry to say, that i cant recomend Pickford&Black.
