Pickering Child Care Centre

I have been with this center for 8 years. The staff here are amazing and they have always been amazing with my son the age of 1 until 9. The downfall is they have changed management about 3 times since I've been here. I have not had an issue with any of the previous managers they have all been very understanding and treated my son and I like family, however the new manager..not so much. There have been some situations that have taken place and I am sad to say that we will no longer be attending Pickering Child Care Center.

my son lost his right finger from the top joint - SEVERED OFF - very disappointed that my child had to endure so much pain and suffering. Very disappointed about how this severe incident has been handled - downplayed and swept under the rug. I have asked for a proper explanation but have been provided with silence as an answer. The accident report had inaccurate information which blows my mind. So far, the staff only blames another child and stated that "it happen so fast" that they are unable to confirm the whereabouts of the staff at the time of the incident? This disgusts me 1) The Ministry of Education confirms that they are cracking down on unlicensed daycares but what assurances do I as a parents have regarding the safety of my children at daycare centers that are right under their noses? 2) I did not leave my children in the care of another child. I've asked the question over and over - where were the staff? Why did they put inaccurate information on the accident report? They were the ones that placed the severed part of the finger in a ziplock bag and saw that the entire nail plus some was no longer attached to my boy? How does anyone with a heart see a child go through that much pain and think about themselves only. At this point, I'm beyond hurt and anger. I need answers. My son and I are still traumatized. he cries and tells me he wants his finger back. Every night I go to bed crying because I did not sent my boy there with a missing body part and just the thought of the tremendous amount of pain he was in just crushes me.
