Great visit! Had the chance to come here for dinner recently and it was fantastic. I opted for the chips & salsa trio to start and the chorizo and octopus as well as a couple of the cocktails like the Betty White and El Diablo and I must say it’s one of the good ones! All of which tasted delicious! Will definitely be back here!
I had a great dining experience here this evening. I kicked things off with the chips and salsa. The spicy peanut salsa was something I have never seen before and it was great. I then grabbed 2 rogue tacos which was a the pork belly right now. I also had the pork tacos which were great too. I wish I had saved some room as I would have liked to have tried the churro. Keep in mind they do last call around 915-930 so don't try and squeeze in too late before close. Would definitely recommend this place and am likely to be back.
Our first time at Picaro. Very impressed. Really good food. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the tacos. Make a reservation, as it's a small dining room. Also the hot sauce for the tacos is wicked good and . If they bottle that sh*t, I'm stocking up. I Highly recommend the creamsicle drink, but the hot batagna not so much. But definitely finish off with the churros because omg.
We came here without knowing much at all about this place and let's start by saying our waitress was awesome went outta her way for us and was amazing and the food was to die for the alligator tacos were amazing and the octopus chorizo was delicious aswell and the pork adobo was delicious the guacamole coulda used a lil salt and lime maybe a little something extra but was still decent overall we came for tacos and we got amazing tacos we will be back not only cause the tacos were amazing but the service was great too
Did the Wednesday Date Night Dinner and our server was the sweetest! She is very friendly, genuine and answered all of our questions. All of our drinks were beautifully made and well balanced. We were a party of four and did 1 Date Night Dinner which included: salsa trio and chips, green papaya salad, and we chose 2 orders of the Rogue tacos chef rotating creation and an order of churros. We also ordered 2 orders of chicken skin chicarrones, 3 fish tacos, 3 pork tacos and 3 shrimp. So the pico de gallo was delicious, but the other two salsas was not our favourite. The Roasted Shishito salsa was really bitter. And the Spicy Peanut one was a nice slow heat, but nothing memorable. The chips were hit and miss with the salt level. And the green papaya salad was…. bland. Of course everyone has their own taste, but when I see a “green papaya salad” on the menu I think of the Thai style, full of chili, salt, sugar and funky fish sauce. The star of the show and what I completely recommend is the chicken skin chicarrones. It came with a honey and Aleppo dip I wish that was the dressing on the papaya salad and were so crispy. We ended up dipping those into the salsa trio too. Churros were hot and fresh and one order comes with 4 churros. The dulce de leche sauce was served warm. I would go to Picaro for the great service, chicharrones and the drinks. Don’t know if I would go back for the tacos or anything else…. Unless they revamp the menu.
I have mixed feelings about this place. Waitress was super friendly but super slow. Drinks took 30-45 minutes per round. Food was descent at best. $18 for 3 little tacos and $15 for a cocktail. Not sure this place is worth the money.
Amazing food, fantastic drinks, and even better service !! Highly recommend!
Service was nice and fast, I did appreciate it. But, food was bland. Tortillas from the tacos were cold. Meat was dried. Overall, it was an okay experience. Would I go back? I don’t think the good service is enough for me to go back. After all, if I go to a restaurant, I want to enjoy the food as well.
Guac and chips were great, just needed slightly more salt. Chupacabra was smoky and sweet with a bit of spice. Special tacos were crispy chicken - lightly breaded and fried, delicious! Friendly servers, would definitely go back
Really great Latin/Mexican restaurant! Very friendly service, good cocktails, good Latin/south American wine selection and a decent selection of bottled beers. Food was very good, we did get the "tomahawk steak" platter and found it to be plenty of food, it doesn't serve well as a taco meal. It was more of a plated meal to share. Was very impressed with this restaurant
