Found this place by mistake, unfortunately.. Ordered Salt & Peppered Squid/Shrimp. Not crispy, as a fried item should be, soft squid, not a pleasant mouth feel. Pork steamed clay pot. The sauce was tasty, but the pork was fried before going in the pot, so was so quite tough, I would think a steamed clay pot would be soft tender meat, so sad. Ordered Tofu and vegetables on crispy noodle.. unfortunately it never came to the table. No one ever came to see how things were, despite me telling them, this is my fist time here. Never received a bill, had to go to the counter. So just under $40.00 for 2 dishes. I asked about my missing dish .... An older gentlemen informed me, they thought it was too much food for me and left that dish out, without telling me. Very sad experience ....
We went to try this place out for a change of pace from our usual list of Vietnamese restaurants in Calgary. It's located in a very busy strip mall in the Forest Lawn area, next to many other restaurants, an asian grocery store and other little shops. The parking lot was completely packed, so we thought the restaurant must be busy - we were surprised when we walked in that there was only one other table that was taken. The restaurant itself is relatively clean, with very dated decor. When we looked at the menu, we were a bit apprehensive, as it was a random mix of everything. Although it's supposed to be authentic Vietnamese, they had chicken wings and fries what?!on the appetizer menu, along with a whole slew of Chinese entrees. It's usually not a good sign if there are too many types of foods available, when it is supposed to be Vietnamese. I opted to try the stir fried beef and vegetables and my husband had the house special pho. The pho was just ok- nothing special. The beef and vegetables were very disappointing. Although the vegetables and beef were nice and tender, the dish was covered in a flavourless, gelatinous sauce that stuck to everything and was almost mucous-like in texture not very appealing. I actually had to try and wipe the vegetables and meat off on a napkin before eating them. All in all, would not recommend. Perhaps there are other dishes at this restaurant that are better, but there are MANY other amazing options for delicious vietnamese in the city.
The pho soup is great and offers a lot of value. Simple yet delicious. Their subs are also a winner and for the price you can’t beat it. I’ve been going for years and will always come back. Lowest prices in town
Worst Vietnamese food experience!!!! Tea is not complimentary, sauce siracha & hoisin are offered in those tiny sauce dish, hardly any beef, broth is luke warm. Most of all, owner/server is not accommodating at all.. food taste is not even at par with other Vietnamese resto.. waste of time and money.. bu the way, their Banh Mi is the worst, almost no meat and no liver pate.. never been so dissappointed with my meal..
Very good Buffet all you can eat hot plate which include beef fish squid shrimp and unlimited vegetables and herbes.
Nice warm decor, afforable price, taste just like back in hometown
Glad to help local businesses. We were the only patrons in the restaurant and I had to still walk up to the waiter to get hot sauce. A bit better service will go a long way! But food was good!
Just ordered salad rolls from them and this is what came to my house. Also asked for the chicken satay and the soup has no flavor whatsoever...
sorry but the pho broth is lacking in flavor :
Lovely family owned Vietnamese restaurant. Extensive menu to choose from, all reasonably priced and tasty. You will never run out of new things to try here. Friendly, polite and attentive staff.
