Pho Saigon

Was a restaurant I would have given four stars to - now three. This was a cute and unique little Vietnamese cafe. The food is good, as is the service. It was a nice place to come in - have some good food, talk and relax. They had a divider down the center of the room that was a pony wall with a faux thatched roof above it. It offered a sense of privacy when you were sitting beside it, and was also a noise barrier. They have now removed the thatched roof and lowered the pony wall, so that now there is no privacy at all, and there is no noise control. It just doesn’t feel the same. It’s now just a plain hole-in-the-wall cafe. Not that there’s anything wrong with a hole-in-the-wall cafe! Those can be great little restaurants. But this place has lost their uniqueness and coziness. Darn. It did need some updating, but I wish they’d found a way to still make make it seem comfortable, with a little more privacy at some of the tables, and less noisy.

I wish there could be a selection for ZERO stars. My wife and I were here a few Saturdays ago. I had the lemongrass pork chop with rice and she had the combo meal which included wonton soup, chicken brochette and several other items. The food tasted strange, but that wasn't the problem. My wife and I both got EXTREMELY ILL. I won't go into the details, but several days if work were missed and it took about a week for us to comfortably eat solids. I typically wouldn't post about this because things do happen. People and companies make mistakes. I am posting this due to how Pho Saigon reacted (or didn't react). I reached out to the restaurant a few days after our issue. My name and number was taken down and I was assured the Manager would call. I received no call back. No apology. Nothing. This leads me to believe that they simply dont care and are not very committed to ensure it doesn't happen again. Hope this post helps!

The best wonton soup i've had since we were in Vietnam back in 2000. The chilli oil and hoisin sauce really kick the soup into a different atmosphere.

Exceptional soups. Quick service. Can sometimes we a wait for a table.
