Enjoyed my meal here for lunch today. I ordered the House Pho and the popular dish with the vermicelli, spring roll, lemongrass chicken, the red meat, and spinach beef roll. It was all very delicious and they are very generous with their meat portion compared to other competitors I’ve been to in Vancouver. Friendly service and attentive. It wasn’t very busy for a Saturday afternoon. Since Ive been coming to Ladner often I think this will be my new spot for comfort food in this area. Thanks for the lovely experience!
Service here was great. Had the beef stew noodle. The broth was rich, hot, and nice and clean tasting, and didn't taste like MSG broth but real broth. The downside here was that the beef placed on top was near ice cold...literally...no exaggeration. It was definitely below room temperature hard cold beef so I am assuming they refrigerate or freeze their precooked beef and just defrost or microwave it when someone orders the dish but reheat it unevenly. Other than that, overall this was a good experience.
Portions are really small and the service was slow when I went, even though we were the only ones there. The food tasted fine but the prices are too high for the amount of food you get. Much better places out there for Pho.
Rare steak & beef ball pho was decent, standard flavour. *** Bun cha vermicelli with grilled pork and spring roll is OK only little oily. *** Single piece of overly-fried banana ~$4.50 was a lonely rip-off with hardly any in it.* one star
House vermicelli $16.5 portion is ok not big but taste soso. My friend had beef noodles and the soup base is very light. Pho in Richmond is much better.
Ordered takeout from here. Food is pretty good. However the portion is extremely small compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. I ordered the sate pho rare beef and there was only 4 small slices of beef.
I've only had the vermicelli rice spaghetti with 3 massive deep-fried spring rolls on top instead of a protein + side salad + another plump deep-fried spring roll. So, I can't comment on the pho's broth, etc. I like the side salad at the other Pho place in Ladner more, as the carrots have this sweet taste & are shredded more softly somehow. :S But I like the deep-fried spring rolls here more. They're plumper, don't have taro in them, & they're not crispy. They have pork in them. They're 'greasier', I suppose? But since they're plumper, I reckon that they have more perceived value to them - which is good, because the vermicelli dish is a couple of dollars more than the other place in Ladner. I can't comment on the dine-in experience, as I've only had take-out. But as I walked through to the cash till & back out, the floor and tables were clean, and the sauces were all filled up. The woman who helped me pay was pleasant and polite, too. :
As a Vietnamese, I truly dont recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Vietnamese food. Their Pho is so disappointing in both quality and portion size compared to other Pho places.
Service was quick. Pho soup was okay and had generous portions of meat but it could use more noodles.
Always good...they can be a bit more generous with the meat dish take out though....only getting half a container when u pay $13 ain't exactly great. ..food however tastes awesome.
