Visiting the Peterborough Lift Lock was an awesome experience for our family. My 12-year-old was absolutely fascinated by the concept of the hydraulic lift lock—it’s incredible to see such engineering in action. The cruise captain was extremely cordial and humble, taking the time to explain how the system works, which made the experience even more educational and engaging. The canal journey itself was a delight, with beautiful scenic views all around. It's a perfect outing for both learning and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Highly recommended!

An interesting National Historic Site of Canada and a marvelous feat of engineering that opened in 1904. It lifts boats up 65ft in giant tubs. The view at the top of the surrounding countryside is great.
