Peter's Your Independent Grocer

This has been my neighborhood grocery store for years, Peter the owner is kind, professional, and always up for a chat. It's a very clean store, unfortunately it is getting expensive due to inflation but that's a give in. I have supported them for a long time and will continue to do so. It can get busy depending on the day of the week and the time, but that just shows how good of an establishment it is.

Pretty harsh experience in this grocery store today,nDon’t come here much, great products… but nothing any other store doesn’t have, prices are high here, they said it’s because they are a smaller store so they need to hike the price up more than usual stores…nAnyways we thought ti come here as it was beside us.nMe and my wife loaded up about 69 bucks worth of groceries into a basket and as we were walking along side the back of the store where the isles are are a bit bigger when oncoming was a employee strolling her cart I’d assume she uses to put things away or take them back… anyways very easy cart to maneuver.nAs polite people me and my wife decided to live as far to the side as we could.nWe were unfortunately met by an employee that did not have any regard for us as patrons.nInstead of also moving to the side she continued directly in the middle with her big square metal cart..: I actually made eye contact with her as her cart was completely empty and there I was holding 60 pounds in two hands trying to lift all the groceries and be a gentleman to my wife…nI also said excuse us as I tried to squeeze even further into the isle to avoid her… she did absolutely nothing to go around us and during her pass she actually ran into my knee with the corner of the metal cart… even tho there was about a meter to her right beside her she could of easily and I mean easily with a empty cart cleared us and not inure my knee.nShe did not care to apologize tho the hit was hard enough to make a sound in her cart, she actually did a pffft… and kept walking as if I was a inconvenience to her very existent… I don’t know if it was cause I was Caucasian and she was not or what the deal was but I felt quite a bit of hate coming off her aside from the very rude and hurtful action she had just displayed….nnI was going to approach her for a solution but upon approaching her in a side afterwards I did not due to the fact she looked very upset to be there in general and I didn’t want to make things worse.nI didn’t get her name for obvious reasons and I was too busy and in a rush to get to my other tasks so I could not speak to a manager, this is also the second demeaning thing as one time in the past I came from the gym connected to the building after my workout and because I had my backpack the uniformed security guard for some reason thought it was polite to follow around a jacked 220 pound man wearing nice threads and beautiful shoes as if I was a thief solely because I was wearing a bag, I get that there is a job to do but he made it so noticeable that he actually lingered 6 ft away from me eyes on me making me feel quite a bit of unneeded pressure while I was simply trying to take care of my sweaty armpits after my workout by buying some deodorant… very uncomfortable experience.nThank you to my thousands of viewers and I hope this helps make once again another good shopping decision… your hard earned money should buy you the respect of choosing to shop in one’s store and the product itself,nPlaces like this simply need to do better!

Just a road stop for supplies, but it looked fine. Prices were reasonable. I'm from the Fraser Valley, it's stupid there for groceries.

big kudos to Elif, she was incredibly outgoing, personable and efficient at her cashier spot! she was funny and happily chatted with me while scanning my groceries and taking my PC card. she’s a keeper!
