Pesto's Italian Restaurant

I write this heartfelt review with a lot of hope, compassion, and tranquility. The atmosphere of this restaurant was beyond the stars in the sky. The ray of sun shine, our server Jenna, brought to the table was extraordinary. Bringing us her warm embrace and expertise of the menu, made it a historic night I will never forget. The tomato basil bread was scrumptious. I want Jenna to be our server for Jenna-rations to come. Will be returning for my next date night with my partner!

Stop recommending this place to new people that never been to valpo. I came here 5 years ago when I moved to valpo and didn't care for the food, so never came back. Then went last night because I didn't pick the place and we went with friends. WORST SERVICE EVER , and no this is not bc of the pandemic. The pandemic is over, its 2022. The waiter forgot to bring 2 of our drinks, I didn't have a place setting when he knew how many of us were going to be there. We had to order our main dishes same time as the apps bc he was that slow. Our bread sticks and bruschetta came so late and it's just bread , it should take that long. The side salad was basic, didn't care for it. The soup was decent. I got the vodka penne and it wasn't even a true vodka sauce, people said it was their best sauce but it wasn't. I couldn't even finish my meal and I always finish my meals. My boyfriend got the ravioli but you can't mess that up , so that's as decent. The dessert was maybe the only best part , creme brulee cheesecake caught my attention and the tiramisu. Probably won't be back again.

It has been a while since I have been at Pesto's. The food is still amazing. The famous bread sticks are always a huge hit. Also, the calamari was excellent. I got the salmon for dinner. It was done to perfection. Will be back.

Unfortunately I was highly disappointed with the Food here. Not authentic at all the bolognese sauce was far from flavorful. Chicken vodka was ok but served cold . The pros is the prices are fair for what they serve and the waitress was super nice .

Amazing food!! Our waiter was great as well. My parents go all the time and I was so happy to finally get to try the food. Steak was cooked to absolute perfection!

Had a very nice lunch, and the serving sizes were plentiful. The ambiance was wonderful, this would be the perfect place to take your special person. This is just a very welcoming environment, very nice.Food: 5/5

A beautiful restaurant and delicious food. Give yourselves plenty of time as with the drinks, salads, and appetizer it was over an hour for the main entrees to arrive and we ordered all of the food together. We overheard from the couple next to us who also said "we have been here for an hour" and had yet to receive their dinner. The place was not overly busy so I am curious if it is just part of the process.

I took my wife out to dinner at 5:30 pm on a Monday. As usual this place was packed, and we didn’t have a reservation. We were lucky to get the last table available in the whole place. After a short wait our server came over and took our order. After a few minutes she came back with our drinks, bread, and dinner salads. The bread here is good, very crusty and served warm. They serve dipping oil and balsamic vinegar along with butter with the bread. The salad was a normal dinner salad, nothing special about it. Then after approximately 10-15 minutes we were served our main course. My wife ordered spaghetti and meatballs and I ordered the baked ziti. Both were served with marinara sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the pasta sauce is very tasty. My wife liked her meal as well. Overall, this is a very nice place to take a date, just make sure to make reservations.

A very nice Italian restaurant with a well developed menu and excellent service. We hosted a holiday dinner here with serveral colleagues. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The food was delicious and the servers were very attentive. Thank you Pestos for helping to make our holiday special. Vegetarian options: Egg plant parmesean, nice salads, meatless entrées on the menu.

Excellent food as always. Comfortable dining spot. Always need a to go box or 3.
