Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

Out of a rating of 1-10... I give THIS Perkins an 11 (ELEVEN) !!! I have never been in a Perkins that had the friendliest, attentive and PROFESSIONAL waitresses! AND...the manager Amanda is one of the few hands on supportive managers I have seen in a long time at a Perkins or anywhere else for that matter. Outstanding job working with and training her employees! Food preparation is right on the "menu" and IF...there is a problem...the correction is made quickly and with a smile and apology! Of all the THREE (3) Perkins in Rapid City and given my experience with all three...PICK THIS ONE...PICK THIS ONE! Nothing personal per employees...just my evaluation of a particular Perkins that stands ABOVE all others in this area. P.S. On Veterans Day...this Veteran was felt like I received the "Welcome Home" at this Perkins that I did not receive when I came home in 1968 from Nam! Semper Fi!

Giving a 5 star for the great waitress, Ellie we had this time. She was attentive and efficient even though she was very busy. The manager told us it would be a while, but he obviously didn't know her, it didn't really know what was going on. Best waitress ever!

Food so so, food was warm, had been sitting under heat lamp. This with out a doubt the slowest service I have ever witnessed. The cashier was the busboy, cashier and host. We waited 10 minutes to be seated, with open tables. There were people trying to cash out with no one to take their money. Everyone was looking around for some help. We waited a half hour for our food, I asked how long, the waitress said we were close, we waited another 10 minutes. I heard several harsh comments from customers about the service. It was convient, as we were at an ajioning hotel. The owners should be ashamed of running a place like this. I left and my wife waited 5 more minutes for the check. The waitress was a snot. No tip for you. I would suspect no tip from others as well. Several people walked out because they had to wait. This is a tourist trap!!!!!

Staff was amazing!! We all had a great night, food was on point and kept drinks full!! Thanks to the blonde gentlemen and wonderful lady that kept our table entertained,

I rarely award one star to a restaurant but in this case it is easy to make an exception. The wait staff was clearly under trained and not capable of handling even the small crowd dining at the time. The food was cold and very bland, unlike other Perkins I have visited. I spoke with a manager who agreed with me but had little power to fix it. Clearly the upper management here doesn't care about its customers. I suggest going elsewhere for you meals.
