Pera Bistro

Was there recently for Parents Weekend and was looking for a nice place for dinner with my son, and this place looked promising. Food was ok, but we had a problem with the bill. We were charged twice in error for some of our drinks, we spoke to the server and she was very nice but she called over someone who I’m assuming is the manager or owner. He was extremely rude to us, got very animated, and was doubting our claims were true. It was such a hassle that we ended up just leaving and paying for the extra drink. Will not be back for sure!

Not many choices in Williamstown but Pera was very enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. Service was good, wine choices very reasonable and we enjoyed what we ate.

We had a Mediterranean plate, which was excellent with warm pita. Then we had a scrod dish - the fish was fresh but we found the preparation a bit bland. Portions were large. Oddly, for both us and the table next to us, they brought out our entrees before we were even half way through our 1st course. They were fine with taking it back to the kitchen, but that was not good timing.

Pera is an attractive space with a good location on the lively Spring St. in Williamstown. It is accordingly much-visited, and from the reviews it seems most people enjoy their meals. Unfortunately, my wife and I had a very different experience recently. Our server was not very knowledgeable, but especially disappointing was the food itself. Pera makes its own pasta, but ours (two kinds) was tough and tasteless. The sauces also left much to be desired, and the bruschetta seemed to be days old. We left very disappointed.

Excellent. I have food allergies. Hostess had owner explain gluten free options. He also added cooked veggies instead of Bulger pilaf. Food was fabulous, and it was wonderful to have someone pay attention to my concerns. 5 stars
