One of the best Taiwanese restaurants I have ever been to! Staff are amazing and very attentive. Food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be coming back here. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
This restaurant is opened recently. I find it clean and tidy. Food is delicious, price is reasonable and service is amazing.Food: 5/5
New Taiwanese restaurant that just opened up in Marpole. The food tasted pretty good, I especially liked the calamari batter and seasoning as well as the noodle broth flavour. The appetizers are a bit on the pricey side but the rest of the menu seems to be priced like other similar restaurants. The service was good as well.Food: 5/5
When this restaurant was still in Burnaby 20 years ago, my friends and I used to drive a long way to eat there because it was probably the only place where we could truly taste authentic Taiwanese food. A few days ago, I heard from a friend that this restaurant was opening in Vancouver, and we were filled with excitement. On the day of their official opening, to avoid the crowded crowd, we arrived at five o'clock. The restaurant's decor is simple, but the advertising slogans and pictures on the walls are quite interesting. We ordered some Taiwanese snacks that we had been longing for, including TW Meatball W Pork Bamboo Shoot, Deep Fried Boneless Chicken Thigh Rice, Spicy Pork Ear Slice, and MARINATED BAMBOO SHOOTS. All the dishes still retained the authentic Taiwanese style and flavor. We all enjoyed our meal. When it was time to pay, because they were newly opened, they were selling a Super Value Coupon Book, buy 50 get 50. Each five-dollar voucher came with a note: "$5 Vouchers can only be used per person per transaction." I even asked the staff at that time how to use them. However, to our surprise, when we went to eat there again yesterday, the staff insisted from start to finish that the three of us could only use two five-dollar vouchers. This statement completely contradicted the clear and straightforward rule: "$5 Vouchers can only be used per person per transaction." When we asked the staff for an explanation, she said, "We have always done it this way." "Always"? You just opened recently. We feel this is a deceptive practice and are very disappointed. We hope this company can provide a reasonable explanation. Note: Thank you, owner , for such a quick response and for resolving our concerns so clearly. I believe excellent quality and honest treatment of customers are important driving forces for a prosperous business.
Marpole was in dire need of an authentic Taiwanese restaurant and Pearl House fills that gaping hole with delicious Taiwanese dishes. Their beef shank is simmered for 8 hours for a tender bite, their cabbage is infused with garlic, and their fried chicken nuggets are crispy and juicy. The prices are reasonable as well.
The food was awesome and that was the reason we bought a few of their gift certificates. While buying them, they did mention there were exceptions on using the $5 certificate that it's limited to 2 per table, but no limitations on the $10 ones. However today after eating in, I was just told that you cannot use the $10 certificate along with the $5 ones? So either you use two $5 or unlimited $10. This was never mentioned when we bought the certificates otherwise we wouldn't have bought so much. Kid-friendliness: Bowls and spoon and forks provided
It was my first time trying Taiwanese food, and I absolutely recommend this place. Foods were amazing, and service was perfect. I definitely would like to go there again Food: 5/5
Normal everyday food but very well made and high quality. Service is great, attentive and nice attention to detail. Definitely my new favourite place.Food: 5/5
Will not recommend for sure! Ordered take out and missing some order, they asked me to go back and get the food myself which I live far away... doesn't even say sorry?? eventually I didn't get either food or money back and shame on the poor service. I won't say the food is good, theres more better options in town!Food: 1/5
