What a fantastic course! If you’re in the area, you NEED to take some time and play! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The condition of the course was great! It is a challenging course, but you never get better if you don’t push yourself!!
The Hills used to be called Peace Portal Golf. It's changed ownership. It's located near the Canada , US border. It has a huge parking lot and it also has a par 3 course beside it if you don't want to play the big course. They have a clubhouse that serves food all day plus an Artigiano coffee shop and live entertainment on the weekends. There's a table set up at the 10th hole for drinks, hot dogs and chips. The new owners have made changes. The first tee box was moved up about 50 yards, which was a good move. It makes the first hole played faster. After that, they changed the next eight holes from the original direction of the course and made them the back eight. Thus, the old back eight have become holes 2 - 9. The Hills is a big mix of long and short fairways. Wide and narrow. There is no high grass to hit out of, but there are lots of trees. There are some water features and is quite hilly, as the name suggests. It looks like it plays long, but 2 good hits from the tee and you're on or near the greens. It is walkable, but if you don't like going up and down hills, they have club carts for rent. I've been coming to this course for years and really like it. The course is in good condition, and the greens are good too.
Great golf course with excellent restaurant. New deck outside being built to enjoy more patio time. We played today. Course in good shape. Greens were decent, and cart helped keep the sun off. Patio afterwards we ordered Nachos, Fish 'n Chips, and Seafood Linguini. Food is excellent here. Will definitely be back...
Today's beautiful day ! Fairways & Green condition is good. Doesn't work GPS watches. Price is mid-level for senior. Very good parking place.
We held our wedding reception at The Hills in October. The entire experience from start to finish was fantastic. I felt like the staff bent over backwards to make our day special in every way. The food was exceptional, the wine is reasonably priced, and the service was very good. We had a two piece band called Nova Sol to play through dinner, and then “DJ Don” for dancing. Many guests have remarked that it’s the best wedding they have ever been to!
Decided to try the hills for valentine's dinner, ambiance was good, music was not too loud, live music started at 6:30pm. Food was good, portion a little on the smaller side but not overly salty and was very balanced. Had the chowder with seafood added, cauliflower appy, duck main, steak with fries and chocolate pie dessert either salted caramel Gelato. Appy is a bit pricey. The other is fine. Owner or manager dressed in pink which is cute and nice. Each table received a rose today. Very considerate. We were told that website is not updated. Recommended golf course in White Rock and Surrey, BC. Are you seeking a golf course in White Rock or Surrey, BC? Try The Hills At Portal Golf Club. The Hills golf course is my favourite place to play golf-a beautiful landscape with green grass, hills, ponds and lakes.
An outstanding place for casual golfers. A scenic course through natural forest, with holes varying between approx 75 and 120 metres. Having played a few local par-3 courses, this one stands out. Friendly staff, no pressure. Ideal for beginners and up. Strongly recommended
Overall great course. The greens were quite slow. But very well-shaded for a hot day.
Such a lovely place and the food is great quality and the price is very reasonable. What a great experience to have especially since we didn't even plan to eat out.
