Very nice place tucked away in the norwood hotel. The ambience is nice there and is really great for hanging out. I do think that the food could be better. The brioche cinnamon french toast was good for those with a sweet tooth! The eggs benedict had a good hollandaise sauce but the poached eggs are overdone for my liking. Its cooked to an over medium. Im not sure if thats just the default or if you need to ask to get it cooked less. Otherwise, it's a decent place with really good drinks and cocktails. I think drinks are definitely the highlight of this place and were quite tasty!
We went here for Mother’s Day brunch. They are one of the few restaurants in the city that takes reservations for brunch so that’s a big plus for us. We were seated in one of the corner booths, and it was so cozy. The place has great ambiance and felt really homey. Staff was great shoutout to Nicole and the food wasn’t so bad either. I tried the St. B sandwich, as we were in St. B, but it was a bit too salty for my taste. The fries good be a little crispier. The French toast cinnamon bun was very good, topped with various berries. I recommend for those with a craving for something sweet. The place is inside the Norwood Hotel on Marion and you can either park on the street or in the hotel’s parking lot. And you can now pay online as well, they have a QR code on the table that directs you to a website where you can pay your tab.
**RevieStepping into Pauline’s for traditional high tea is like being wrapped in a comforting blanket on a chilly day. A quintessential Sunday experience, the ambiance reverberates with old-world charm, beautifully juxtaposed with a touch of modern sophistication. The in-house bakery is, without a doubt, the star of the show. Every morsel speaks volumes about the craftsmanship of the bakers. Their éclair is an art piece – baked to crispy perfection and filled with a delectable salted caramel that just melts in the mouth. However, it's not just the pastries that take the limelight. The cold smoke salmon sandwich is a delightful blend of flavors that tantalizes the taste buds. And to wash it all down, I opted for the Moroccan mint tea. A little tip: add a splash of milk and a spoon of sugar to elevate its taste to celestial levels. But what truly sets Pauline's apart, beyond the delectable offerings, is the impeccable service. The staff exudes warmth and professionalism, ensuring every guest feels like royalty. In a world of fleeting experiences, Pauline’s traditional high tea stands out as an enduring memory. Highly recommended!
They conveniently take reservations for brunch which was a deciding factor for us. I had the Spanish Hash which was hashbrowns with garlic, tomatoes, chorizo which was almost non existent, shallots and chimichurri with 2 poached eggs. I thought it was a bit bland and could have used stronger seasoning. I asked for hot sauce which did help add some flavor. My wife had the Brioche Cinnamon Bun French Toast which seemed more like a grilled cinnamon bun couldn't tell it was dipped in an egg or anything to make it french toast like. Not much fruit added on top. The medium roast fair trade coffee was a bit weak for my taste. My wife liked her chai tea.
The food was good and the restaurant was nice. Arrived for brunch and they told us that we had to wait to be seated so the kitchen could catch up on orders. Thought that was weird because there were plenty of open tables open. So we just asked to be seated immediately and wait for them to be ready for orders at the table. . Ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and it was decent but I found the poached eggs were overdone and as well as the smoked salmon that it was more like baked salmon. It was still tasty but will probably try something else next time. I was very happy with the cocktail I got "that's my jam" though and I recommend trying it. . It's also Fried Chicken Fest right now so we got the special item and it was good. The sauce was definitely the highlight of that dish. . Dietary restrictions: Oat milk alternative for coffee Wheelchair accessibility: It looks like the restaurant and the hotel it's in are wheelchair accessible
Beautiful restaurant - really love the decor and vibes here. The breakfast is simple, nothing super outstanding - if you’re looking something simple, this would be it.
Came there for brunch, the server was really nice. The brioche French toast was super soft and the Caesar salad was probably one of the best salads I’ve had. Would definitely come back with my wife.
We came across Pauline's a bit late and unexpectedly and I always try out brunch places everywhere I go, so made a reservation and took the day to be Chez Paulines. Run by the Sparrow family fame of Norwood hotels and nestled under their banner we expected it to be a good experience. Situated in the French district of Winnipeg a few blocks away from St. Boniface Based on Pauline Boutal erstwhile actor and artist famed for illustrations for Eaton center. Their walls adorn those illustrations and reminisce about French cafes and very stylish, bright and warm and cozy. Not having loud music was the best part for us personally. Their menu is light, concise and crisp, which makes sense as they seem to share the kitchen with their sister restaurant Wood Tavern and that makes sense about their wait times and why it is important to reserve before you go on seeming busy times and days. Also that's more the reason their food is super tasty, they are not wasting time pleasing, rather making the best for us. Also I suppose why a lot of people have issues with their POACHED EGGS their yolk hardened till it reaches the table, which shouldn't be a reason and I am sure they will listen to the people. The food was fresh and tasty and filling. Very well seasoned and made. Their cocktails are lit and legit 10/10 try them. Their service was top notch- Our wait times and everything related to waiting for the order to being served food, to making sure we were comfortable was taken care of so very well. Our wait staff was great and courteous. I got an automated mail after i visited as I had made a reservation and I replied on it hoping it will reach someone as i had positive feedback and getting a reply from GM about our visit was sweet, kind and heart warming. Thank You Pauline and staff.
Pauline’s has a very nice atmosphere. Modern and hip. The breakfast food is basic, the server was good. I like the wood tavern food a tad more. It was filling and tasted good.
Great atmosphere, great food and great service! Went there for breakfast after finding about it online. Was not disappointed. In fact I was surprised that the place seemed to be a popular restaurant yet I had never heard about it. Our sever Nicole delivered exceptional service! The food arrived on time and was delicious and well portioned. Definitely on my favorite list! Parking: Limited parking available. There is also a two-hour limit on the street
