Possibly one of the best Korean restaurants in Midwest. Their menu and recipes are authentically Korean except there is much more. The flavors in all of their dishes are so much more complex than any Korean food I’ve ever had. Highly highly recommended.
was a nice overall experience, if you wanted some korean but a more niche environment this is it. The menu: I enjoyed their unique korean drinks and the layered desert. I would not recommend the fish if you not so good at picking bonds out. I would come back to try the rest of the menu. The raw options does looks good will try the next time.
Delicious! We ordered 4 dishes and a dessert for the two of us. It was a lot of food. Next time we go, we will probably order 3 dishes and then maybe order 1 more depending on how we feel on our 3rd dish! Their Bingsu is to die for. I've had a fair share of Bingsus in my life growing up in Korea. It was one of the best Bingsus I've ever had and I will definitely be back for it. Their Galbijjim was very generous in portion and I loved the rice in stone bowl, Dolsotbap. Oh. I will definitely be back.
Came here about 5 years ago with my friend Eva who used to work there and had such an amazing experience, never tasted anything like it before! Returning now and it is still good! I was excited to show my boyfriend this place and for him to experience. His favorite was the beef tartare. Mine was the bulgogi. Pricey but it’s worth to try it to experience new flavors. Missing the bing bread!!!
Not cheap by any means but worth every penny. Loved the food, the Choctaw were great. My daughter's lemonade was really nice and not too sweet. Favorite was the tempura veg and beef soup Oh and the shaved ice dessert was amazing too.Food: 5/5
Delicious unique Korean food experience. Had the off the cuff tasting menu and beverage pairing. Service was great and friendly. The overall portions of the tasting menu are very filling. We struggled to eat it all. Worth every bite. Gave it 4 stars because there were some courses that were not great and I do not find myself with a strong desire to return for a second visit.
I really don't know where to start with this place. Every single aspect of dinner was amazing I can't wait to come back again! Highly highly recommend getting the off the cuff tasting option from the chef...great surprise dishes with both menu and non-menu items. We sat next to two couples that did the same thing and our dishes were all different. Not to mention the amount of food you get...the plates kept coming! Literally had 8 dishes! Bing bread was delicious, the salmon melted in my mouth, and the yogurt ginger dessert was sinful! The service was also excellent. They explained that they work as a team and would take orders, bring food and remove plates between all the employees. Could be confusing but they all worked seamlessly and well with one another. Double high five! Might I add, this kitchen was one of the cleaniest I have ever seen. The communal table wasn't appealing at first but was quickly at ease. The table was long and wide and more than enough room for everyone and I never felt like our space was compromised. Overall I couldn't be happier! Left feeling very satisfied and with a smile on my face. I will be back for more!
I hate myself for doing this, because I really admire the humanitarian work that chef Beverly Kim does for the city of Chicago as part of Community Kitchen and Abundance Setting. That being said, I thought the meal was just...okay. I enjoyed the ddukboki, but the bing bread and short rib noodles were pretty underwhelming. It's possible the food just isn't as good as takeout, but I'm unsure that I will return.
We absolutely loved it. The food was unique and delicious and the atmosphere/vibe was refined but casual. Can't wait to come back!Food: 5/5
Oh my god! One of my favorite Korean-American restaurant of life time. Thanks my buddy from Chicago who booked this place a month before I arrived it was an amazing experience. Cocktail and foods are amazing. Don’t have to question why there Michelin star restaurant.
