Awesome food and ambiance only thing we were disappointed is that we celebrated 4 bdays and they did not offer even one free cake for the bdays so we had to pay for all 4! A little disappointed considering we were a group of 12. Also the credit card machines did not work so took at least fifteen minutes of trying to pay on different machines before it worked. Other than that great experience!
Bring your own wine. nVery good Italian food. Excellent restaurant on the south shore of Montreal. Very nice service, they know how to take care of you and it's serve pretty fast, we didn't wait forever after the kitchen.
We had a fantastic dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the warm, friendly service made it even better. Daniel took great care of us with attentive and cheerful service. We enjoyed perfectly cooked calamari, comforting soup, a fresh balsamic salad, creamy Penne Gigi, and flavorful Pollo Asiago. To finish, we indulged in rich coffee, a smooth cappuccino, and delightful cannoli. Every bite was a treat, and we can’t wait to return!
I’ve been a loyal customer of Paolo Gattuso for 4–5 years, regularly visiting the La Prairie location and recommending it to friends and even large groups. It is my go-to Italian restaurant and I love it.nnThat’s why I chose it to celebrate my birthday on May 1st, 2026—and unfortunately, it turned into the worst service experience I’ve ever had.nnBefore the event, on a previous in-person visit, I confirmed with a manager at reception that I could bring my own cake without a fee if I provided my own plates and utensils. On the night, a staff member insisted on charging $2 per person anyway. When I explained the prior approval, I was challenged in front of my guests and told, “I am the boss here, I make the calls.”nnThe situation escalated unnecessarily, and although the fee was eventually waived, the atmosphere of joy and laughter was already ruined.nnTo make matters worse, we were almost ready to leave when another staff member who hadn’t even served us came to our table and said: “It is best for the restaurant and for you that you leave.” We had already paid and were not causing any disturbance. This felt very confrontational and completely inappropriate.nnVery disappointing experience, especially for a place I used to trust for important occasions. I’m now hesitant to return after this.
Good place to try for a variety of Italian dishes.nnThe quality of the food is amazing. Carbonara, though, felt like a soup instead of pasta. It had way too much of the sauce.nnIt was very loud when it got full, so it was impossible to speak to my wife. Did not like the environment.nnService was great and welcoming. Prices are fair.nnFree parking available around the hotel.
