Beers are good, lots on tap. Service is good. The Food is just awful though. Worst wings in town. Super sad and disappointing wings. I only ate half of a Bison burger last time but that's because I was desperately hungry and needed something. If they had a better kitchen, it would be a lot more happening. EDIT: response to the owner. I have found somewhere that has met my standards. EVERY OTHER RESTAURANT / BAR IN TOWN! STEP UP YOUR FOOD GAME! It's not a "Me" issue. This is why your food is STILL awful! It sucks because we LOVE going to trivia night, but we literally make sure we eat before we go because the food is that bad. You legit have us in the building weekly! Not buying food. You could make an extra $100 a table on tuesdays if only your food didn't suck. Oh wait sorry, it's a "me issue". My standards are just too high!
After three years of being down and out, Patty McSwiggins is back everyone and what a treat it is. My first impression walking in, the outside is still under construction so don't be afraid! They're open ! Walk in and wow , a new modern, yet traditional feeling Irish Pub atmosphere. Was greeted with cheer and enthusiasm, sat at the bar and right away the number of taps was pleasing to me. However I am a creature of habit so I had the Ricard's Red and it was cold and not flat as I have found in many other establishments to be flat and taste like pennies out of the tap. They have their taps dialled in it would seem. I of course had the fish and chips, how could I not ? It is the benchmark for Irish pubs, and let me tell you , it did not disappoint ! Crispy , the fries look hand cut , and the gravy was delicious. For me it's the small things; presentation, service, and the fact they have their malt vinegar in bottles instead of packets like I've had in many "Irish" themed pubs. Watch out in September as they are going to be starting up live entertainment on weekends and really iron out their happy hour specials. I highly recommend this establishment , I will definitely be back again !
Review was from early Dec 2020 Great job with reno and live entertainment Positive Wings are better than they were, a few months ago. Good job Negative I was soo excited to see pizza on the menu. Ordered the Canadian. Zero taste and the crust was super dry. I was surprised that Paddy's was serving it. I told the waitress, about the pizza. She apologized, but we still had to pay full price for it not cool. We ate the wings and left over half of the pizza on the table.
Love this pub. It feels like home when I'm there, It makes me wish I was a heavier drinker almost haha. Glad to see things getting closer to normal for them. Paddy's is a gem this town can't afford to lose. Edit: 6 months later. Still great, live music is amazing, food is yummy.
We started the meal with the best suicide wings in all of Fort McMurray, followed them up with the best mini Yorkshire puddings we have ever had. Next we had a club style sandwich with an amazingly juicy and thick chicken breast, and finally a potato soup that happened to be exactly what we wanted. Delicious !!! We somehow still managed to have room for desert which we’ve gotta say is the best deserts we have had in a restaurant in many many years. Service was excellent, it was quick, extremely friendly, and made us smile. This place made for the best date night in a long time. Would highly recommend. And the owner seems like a really cool guy ;
Love this big fat mountain burger!! Best joint to get your tasty comfort food in Fort Mac! Support local! Pleasant and friendly service from servers too.
Have always loved and supported Paddys, but the last few meals there have been so disappointing. Thanksgiving dinner was subpar at best. Waited an hour after our pick-up time to get our food; half were missing something. No mashed potatoes left for anyone, so some of us got fries, some didn't. Some got stuffing, some didn't. Some got buns, some didn't. No offer of a discount. At $25/plate, I'd expect much better food and service.
Great home style breakfast, amazing service and all around amazing experience. I highly recommend going there for some early breakfast and sports.Food: 5/5
It was 11 a.m. and we couldn't decide between breakfast and lunch, so we stopped at Patty's and ordered up some breakfast burgers with a side poutine, absolutely fantastic paired great with a Kilkenny. Between Janine and Angie you couldn't ask for a better pub staff, definitely worth a visit if you've never been
Love them 98% of the time. Our service is usually a 10 out of 10 but this time it was atrociously slow for such a slow night. The stir fry was very bland, next to no broccoli or meat and a very small portion for the price I was charged. All this being said, still love going here with friends and family and wholeheartedly recommended this restaurant.
