Best thing about this branch is that it is in the same complex with Ray Friel Recreation Facility. It's very convenient as people can drop in at the library to and from the gym. Sometimes it becomes a challenge to get a parking, since Ray Friel gets very busy at times! Nevertheless, the library is usually not too busy- there are nice seating arrangements. There is a great collection of magazines and newspapers. The librarians are helpful and friendly. They are prompt if you need help with say, finding any books, or using the printing station.
They still have the $1 book section! I regularly come here to study and it's a wonderful place to do that. Plenty of desks with outlets and comfortable seating. It reminds me of the library I grew up with, with all different generations enjoying the library together. The entrance is barrier-free and I can access it with my walker. Sometimes it's confusing which of the push buttons is for the front door vs the bathroom right next to it, but it's not a big deal. They also have lots of regular programs. I haven't been to any yet but there's a few I might go to.
Wonderful library, but very troubling children's book section. Why are books about transitioning genders on display for our kids? Unless you want your children to be dangerously misled and confused, do not bring them to the children's area. It's one thing to promote acceptance, but it's another thing to plant a seed into a child's mind that they might be born into the wrong body.
A wonderful place to both spend a few hours reading the latest magazines, and picking up a great book or now free puzzles bring one, take one. Lots of natural light and quiet cubicles to enjoy a quiet read. I borrow children’s books when my grandchildren visit. Fantastic place.
It's clean and it has lots of natural light, a variety of books and dvds, a water refill station and a bathroom. I just wish they had better/more ergonomic chairs.
