Osaka Sushi

5/5 – Amazing Sushi & Great Service!nThis place is always busy definitely book a reservation!, but the staff handled the rush with such warmth and efficiency. Despite how packed it was today, the servers were incredibly kind and attentive. And of course, the food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and totally worth the wait. Highly recommend!

Usually a good staple restaurant in Markham but our most recent visit was a disappointment.nnFood was pretty mediocre. The worst was the beef sashimi which had the gnarliest grey colour ykno the colour when meat is leftover sitting in the fridge for way too long and had no sear at all either. Sushi temperature was much too warm and the variety was pretty basic for the 2 person platter. Shrimp tempura was good tho - not too oily and not overcooked.nnThe restaurant was extremely hot inside, the A/C was no where near the right temperature for how hot it’s been this summer. It was also extremely noisy inside since the restaurant is relatively small - not really a place for a quiet, lowkey meal.

Osaka Sushi has been in the area for a very long time but this is in fact the first time I have ever tried.nnThe 3 of us had called in a few hours ahead of time for a table reservation and it was quick and easy. Upon arriving we were quickly greeted and seated.nnAfter flipping through the menu for a while we are still not sure what are the signature dishes here, so we decided to just try a few things out randomly and placed our order.nnOrder came very quick and is much faster than we could imagine. However, we were just receiving disappointment dish after dish on the food quality.nnWe came first is the fried gyoza, the color and the look of it were not appealing, and they did not taste any better than the look. Our 40 pcs sashimi do look fresh, but we received over 20 pieces of salmon in it so over half of the plate is filled with salmon, we surely understand that salmon is lower cost for the restaurant to fill our plate with, but we did not expect to see this much of one kind of fish in the assorted plate as there are few different kind of lower cost fish already on the plate. We also order a BBQ squid and this is also the smallest size of it I have seen in any Japanese restaurant in the past few months, and on the bright side, it actually does taste delicious.nnWe have also ordered a bowl of spicy ramen at the end to share and the only thing that they did perfect on the ramen is it was very hot, but flavor and everything else was unfortunately very lacking. They also charge spicy ramen for an extra dollar comparing to non spicy ramen, but we couldn't find the spiciness other than just the orange color in the broth.nnI have to say with the price and the value of this entire meal is by far the worst Japanese restaurant we had tasted in Markham during the past three years. Osaka Sushi is not terrible, at least their service was pretty good and fast, but we are sure that it isn't a Japanese restaurant that could bring us back again, there are too many better options nearby.nnI do not recommend Osaka Sushi to anyone.

Discovered Osaka Sushi by accident. It’s located in a plaza with a No Frills, a Shoppers Drugs Mart, a bank, a hardware store, and a bowling alley. Was doing errands and felt hungry and decided to give it a go after googling their restaurant reviews.nnWhat a gem! It’s a cute restaurant reminiscing a small village in Japan. Every seating is somewhat intimate because of the semi partitions and curtains. It’s a small and lovely restaurant, so in peak times it can get filled up easily.nnLove the Tempura Shrimp Bento Box. It comes with a miso soup and salad. That tempura crunch is unforgettable.nnHad a great time at the eatery as our waiter was friendly, attentive and spoke English well. Even explaining to us about the mounted service button on the wall.nnYou won’t be disappointed. Plenty of parking. Go during non busy periods to guarantee a seat. Not sure if they take reservations. Accepts cash, credit cards and debit cards.nnI hardly eat Japanese cuisine, but definitely will be returning to this eatery in the future. Highly recommended. BTW, they have lunch specials.nnTea is extra.

Just had the BEST sushi night This place is always hopping seriously—book ahead!, but even when it’s crazy busy, the team is so friendly and the food never misses. Tonight was no exception: super fresh, insanely tasty, and served with a smile despite the rush. Shoutout to Mandy, our amazing server—she was awesome. 10/10, as always!
