Original Joes

Went there recently and was pretty amazed by the service being provided at Joe’s. First time coming here and we celebrated our dinner spontaneously. Apparently this place is very gorgeous for hangout with friends, in groups or with the family and definitely their servings are extreme for fun goers. Probably it was weekend so we kinda felt like the service was bit slow may be for no particular reason but as the food arrived we just literally made up our mind on it. Excellent location, delicious food and great service all the way. I will surely be back someday when in Nanaimo!

I hadn't been here for a couple of years or so, and the food is always fresh and delicious My granddaughter and I shared onion rings and chicken lettuce wraps. The onion rings have to be the best I have ever eaten, crunchy goodness that doesn't pull apart after the first bite now this is big for me, lol I have had the lettuce wraps before and still delicious, bite after bite! Keep up the great work Original Joe's!

Often great service, last time I went the hostess was entirely unwelcoming. Food is always good tho! Loveee the salads, brussel sprouts and bruschetta fettuccine!

Good, but two orders were wrong and two servers tried to convince me it was right. Was here for a Birthday lunch. The beef dip was really good. Had some kids meals at the table one was wrong and quickly rectified. My order was brought out, it was also wrong. I tried to explain it wasn't right I ordered the spicy chicken burger but I got the non-spicy version. I spoke with two servers to explain and both said, "it's a dry spice". To which I said, it's not spicy at all but there was no offer to change it out. I was offered more spice seasoning, I accepted but it wasn't quite right. I asked for hot sauce and continued to eat the food. I will say the food was good, just not what I ordered.

We gave both dinner and lunch a chance here. After these experiences and after reading recent reviews, I can say that I won't be back. We had dinner on a Monday evening. The place was semi-lively, but not packed by any means. We arrived at 6:30 and it took over 35 minutes for our entrees to be brought to our table from the time we ordered, and they were lukewarm. We noticed that it took over a half an hour for the table next to us to be cleaned after the customers left. We dined in for lunch about a month later on a Tuesday afternoon. It was post-lunch rush, and only a few were dining inside. This time, we waited over 25 minutes for our appetizer and an additional 10 minutes for drink refills. Once our entrees finally arrived, they were also lukewarm. My side Caesar salad was swimming in dressing. Our fries had become soggy by this point too. It was a subpar experience. I gave recent reviews a read once we left, and saw that a few others had a similar experience. Not only this, but the allegations that an employee was fired for raising concerns about racism to management are especially alarming, if true. This has also influenced my decision to not return.

Me and my bf had an amazing time here, we were brought to a table inside but it was to loud for us so we requested a patio table with some heat and our waitress Emily was happy to assist us, one more request was made by us to turn on the patio propane heater and our request was met happily by the manager along with Emily, food was delicious and timing was great, honestly did not want the night to end. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting good quality food, amazing service and all around good vibes, endless thank you's to the staff and management such an awesome end to our night dining here. Definitely will be returning for future dinners.

Great service. Nice place and awsome onion rings and music. Beef Dip sandwich is something you should try. The chicken wings and french fries could be better. Kids meal is $12 CAD and perfect size for my girls comes with a small desert

We were given a gift card so decided to try it. I noticed the one paper card the hostess gave me said the table had been sanitized, but I had to ask for it to be cleaned as it had ring marks from glasses in various spots. One meal was good, the other was missing one thing, fatty, dry and over done. The coleslaw had way too much onion. The bun on the beef dip was nothing special. I had to ask for a new tea cup as the one brought was all stained and dirty looking inside. The servers were all great, but it seemed sad they were all wearing such short or highly slit tight skirts that seemed tacky and degrading. I doubt we will go back.

Was in a bit of a bind and hurry with no urge to have fast food, I came across Original Joes and thought what the heck. Popped in and did a take out order, 20 mins wait was perfect for me to run another errand. I was certainly pleased with the service and the food was very good with generous portions for the price. Make sure you ask for utensils if you're not taking it home right away. Next time I'm in town I'm definitely going to stop by and grab something to eat, this time I'll grab a seat and soak in the atmosphere.

Outstanding! Very pleasant and friendly servers. Very clean and well appointed. Nice choices on the menu and our selections were delicious. We will definitely be back to this great establishment.
