Oregon Trail Motel

This place has a marquee that announces "clean rooms". It is true. For $75 a night, you get clean rooms. It also had wifi, but I didn't use it so I don't know how good the WiFi is. The rooms are in strips of low, no frills cement buildings painted an institutional green color. The rooms are like stepping back in time to your (depending on your age) parents' or grandparents' house. An eclectic mix of sixties through eighties furniture and fabrics grace the room. The shower curtain has a large flower print. The TV is not a flat screen. The bed is full size, the room has a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. Also a table with a couple of chairs. There is a baseboard heater that is slow but works so well that I also know the air.conditioner works well. There is a fan in the bathroom on a timer. Plenty of outlets. Plenty of hot water. Good water pressure. Two flat pillows. Standard hotel blankets. Bed was fine. No breakfast. We were able to check into a room at 1om, which is why we stayed here instead of the Super 8. I don't know how wheelchair friendly this place is because the parking is gravel and there is a ledge to the sidewalk. I didn't scout to see if there was a ramp, but either way you are going to have a hard time with the gravel unless you are in a specific room. I don't know if they have ADA rooms. Forgot to check.

This is the worst motel I have ever seen. We arrived thinking this would be a good place to stay for the night. Upon seeing the room we decided this was not a good fit for the price we paid. The carpets were filthy, the sheets on one of the beds had cigarette burns (the rooms were non smoking). We went immediately to get a refund. We paid 210 dollars for two rooms for 1 night. I'm not impressed with the room or the behavior of the owner about us wanting a refund. She showed us a room that was smaller than the rooms we had and still not clean. I wish the experience would have been better. Had to drive to the next town because there were no other vacancies in Ontario.
