Nice place honestly, but the owner is clueless on how to manage a motel, He has a hidden gem and treats it like everyone who stays there should kiss his butt. There are allot of places in Houghton Lake. STAY ELSEWHERE.

I stayed at Opsal's Venture Inn in late September 2010. The owner lives on site and is very friendly and accommodating. The rate was very reasonable (although it was the "off" season) and the room was large, neat, and clean. There are dining opportunities near-by. If you are looking for a limited frills, "sheets and a shower" place to stay, I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment.

Pretty outdated. Yet very affordable. $50 on a Saturday. This was also in the winter. Opsal is the last name of the guy that owns it. Hes a fire chief
