Oppenheimer Park

Empty and fenced as of may 2020. I miss the indigenous people, the survivors and their wit & wisdom. The grass has grown back, there is still a housing crisis in Vancouver and we all are learning to share this stolen coast salish territory.

Used to be packed with tents. Glad the parks cleared out but it can't be used anyway cuz it's fenced off. Government really needs to do something about riculously high rent costs. Due to inflation, the gap of income vs rent has risen over 200% the last decade. Smh.

Nasty example of the city’s efforts to “clean up” the downtown eastside. Yes it’s clean now that they’ve kicked everyone out of the park, but what happens when the fences go down?

Due to homeless camp that occupied the park for a number of months the city fenced it off.this was great because they staryed to replant the grass and do a park make over.

I have alot of memories I even called it home at one point. Now it is almost back up and running. Thank you too All of great staff and the local detachment for keeping all of us safe .

It's closed down now because of covid. Still there but fenced off.

This place wasnt ok! After the last tent city the park was overflowing with rats and now has been cordoned off until it gets rehabilitated. They basically leveled the majority of it and are working now to bring it back to park like conditions.
