New restaurant located inside the Versante Hotel in Richmond. Nice decor and the food was good. We tried the 8 course meal and it was really good, I would definitely go back. One star deducted because I felt that the server should really wear a face mask especially cause they come pretty close to explain the food to you. Otherwise it was a good experience.
Our first time here and it did not disappoint. We celebrated my daughter’s engagement and had it here which was the perfect choice. We had Tomahawk, Ribs with Truffle and Veggies as our sides plus more. The ambience was one of the best, the food was really good, the desserts were so yummy and the staff were top notch. Thanks to Tim and Terry for making our engagement dinner perfect. We will surely be back.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Our server was attentive and the chef also came to say hi near the end of our meal. The food was delicious, but pricey. A good spot for special occasions!
Celebrated my birthday night here for the first time! Was very impressed with the food quality, presentation as well as the service. Our server Terry was extremely knowledgeable with the food illustration. The manager Tim was also very attentive at our table which gave a plus to the service. Definitely would come back again to try out the other set menus as well !
Tried their tasting menu as a no-brainer. Food quality was great. Very nice plating for each dish. Awesome service by our server Tim. We had a wonderful night here!
The decor is very lovely, the servers are awesome especially ours - Elton, and the food... Yum! A great place for dates or just catching up with friends. The drinks menu has lots of wonderful options as well.
We came here on a Sunday for happy hour. We arrived at around 4pm to a basically empty restaurant. We ordered the dungeness crab and uni dip with truffle chips, steamed mussels and iberico & seafood conservas toast. I also got the OLC sangria. The Dungeness crab and uni dip with truffle chips was delicious. The creamy crab paired with the truffle chips went so well together. You could really taste the crab in there and the uni made the flavours stand out even more. The steamed mussels with chorizo and white wine butter was another good dish. The chorizo is on the spicy side but it went well with the white wine sauce. The bread filled in the sauce was the best part. The iberico and seafood conservas toast was the let down among the trio of dishes. There was too much going on in the toast and it made it confusing. There was anchovies on one side and Spanish sardines in another. Some parts had the iberico and others had the manchego. Overall very conflicting dish. OLC sangria was very refreshing. Didn't contain much alcohol but for the price point I would say it's pretty good. Fruity and perfect for a summer day. Overall: I thought that Oo La Cha has a lot of potential. The food is quite innovative and the plating very beautiful. The flavours are overall pretty good. Service was also really attentive and quick. My cup was never empty. I would come back again for their happy hour as I found the atmosphere very relaxing and not overly pretentious. I would also come back to try their tasting menu.
We dined at Oo La Cha for my birthday and we had an amazing time! We sat at the bar and it was really cool seeing the chefs work in front of us. We got the dry age experience that had 3 courses. The food and service was impeccable. Terry was our server and he made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our dinner. Shoutout to Tim the manager too! He made sure we were well taken care of and made my birthday extra special. 10/10 would recommend coming here for special occasions or you want to treat yourself.
We tried their tasting menu to have a taste of what they offer. $89pp with 8 course. We upgraded the filet mignon to Australian wagyu for an extra $20pp which I don’t recommend because it doesn’t taste anything close to wagyu. We were told that they’ll increase the price in the future. Overall, the food is less French than I expected. A lot of citrus mix in this seasonal menu which can be improved better. No wine pairings available at the moment. Only opened for over a week, I can tell they’re still trying to work on their service. We were well attended by our waiter during this evening. I can tell he tries to bring good service but less detailed oriented I’m sure he will become excellent with more practice. However, the assistant waiter is less professional and collected our plates while one person has not finished making her rush through her plates several times. The manager/supervisor is very friendly and professional most detail-oriented. When he brought us food, he gave great explanations and placed the plates with the same orientation for everyone.
Came here for happy hour to catch up with a friend and had a great experience. Our server Terry was attentive and kind. The food was delicious. Appreciated the manager Tim offering to give us a tour of all the restaurants in Club Versante. Can't wait to come back and try them all out!
